This debate went on for a long time throughout the entire game's life, and I miss this game been thinking about it alot lately. I still play it every now and again.
This is my opinion on the tier list at the very end of the games life when everything was fleshed out, I'm willing to go into detail and further discuss any specific characters or positions that anyone is curious
1. Martian
He 0 losing matchups, maybe like 5 even matchups, and 25 winning matchups. Broke af
2. Batgirl
You can honestly debate her number 1, Sonicfox calls her number 1, I give the slight edge to Martian being a power character. She also no losing matchups, only a handful of even matchups, and 20+ winning matchups
3. Aquaman
Dominated the low tier badly, alot of characters in the game worst matchup was Aquaman. He alot more 5-5 matchups than the top 2 characters, and you can also debate him losing to the top 2 characters, that's about it though
4. Zod
Similar to Aquaman, he dominates alot of the cast badly, but he is the hardest character in the game to master and execute. Aquaman was the easiest character in the game to master and execute so many people didnt feel like putting effort into Zod. I always felt like Zod was underrated though, outside of Batgirl and Martian I dont think Zod loses to anyone and you can even debate Batgirl being even if you played perfectly
5. Flash
Rushdown king, mixups go crazy. You can honestly debate Flash losing 0 matchups, or you can debate him losing to Martian and Aquaman. Outside of them I don't think there's much debate for him losing to anybody else. Destroyed all big bodies
6. Sinestro
Another character that bodies the low tier and mid tier very badly. I would say he for sure loses to Aquaman and Martian, but you can debate him losing to nobody else which could potentially make him having a better matchup chart overall than Flash and Zod (if you debate Flash and Zod losing as much as possible)
7. Deathstroke
This is probably going to be the most surprising placement to everybody. In my opinion, Deathstroke loses to Batgirl Martian Zod Flash but he does even with Sinestro and Aquaman. He goes even or beats everyone below him. Alot of people assume Deathstroke is a zoner which is wrong, his zoning actually isnt that good. Deathstroke is a rushdown character, he has unreactable 50/50's that are safe on block and with background bounce he could get 40-50% combos. Extremely good anti zoning, nobody could really zone Deathstroke at all. Also Deathstroke has the best jump arc in the game. He's the only character in the game outside of Batman who can block Superman's F23 breath in corner, and actually jump out the follow up F2 because he tucks his legs in when he jumps
8. Wonder Woman
Slightly better version of Superman kind of, very plus on alot of things including dive bomb otg. Lost to majority of the characters above her but nobody below her
9. Superman
Same case as Wonder Woman, loses to the majority of characters above him but also has a hard time vs some lower tier characters like Raven and others. His trait mixed with his zoning did give him some lopsided matchups in his favor especially against big bodies like Grundy Bane Lex etc.
10. Bane
Armor god, loses 3-7 to Zatanna and Flash and debatedly loses 3-7 to Martian and Batgirl. Only character in the top 10 with this many 3-7's, but he has a better matchup spread overall than most of the people below him
After this it starts getting a little dicey and debatable with Doomsday Batman Lobo Zatanna Raven GL Black Adam etc.
Idk if I wanna spend time going into them as well but maybe I will because I love this game and love talking about it
