MK11 vs MKX Stages + What are your favorite stages From MK9 to 11?

Hi everyone!

I am having a debate with my friend now.. as be both agree the graphics of MK11 are phenomenal. We also both agree
that MKX stages are SO BEAUTIFUL!!! might even be superior to the ones in MK11,
MKX brings a very evolved MK signature art style... (Dark, Mysterious, Ominous). (I know this subject
won't interest everyone so let's keep it civil if you care respond, if you don't hop on to the next thread with all the love to ya!.)

As I do love the new stages in MK11 I can't help but feel after a year with the game that there's a some
of downgrade in depth and the the dark/ominous/gothic atmosphere MK usually brings with it.
Are MK11 stages over-designed, lack mystery.. and just too earthrealmy? I feel there's a lack of sense of depth.
Is it due to too many visual details?
Interested in your take on this!

Take for instance MKX The Kove vs MK11's Kharon's Ship (comparing these two since they both feature ocean, wood elements etc...)
The Kove: the ocean movement and color and details, The wooden bridge, the art of the rocks on the back, the water splash, the fire.. feels so on point!
Kharon's Ship: This stage in comparison it feels so dim with too many details.. and the ocean is cool but just something about it feels like a step back in graphics

Worst MK9 stage: Kratos' stage
Worst MKX stage: Infected Jinsei Chamber, Infected Dead Woods, Sky Temple and Infected Sky Temple
Worst MK11 stage: They all seem pretty ok so far!

Great picks lol. I agree on your MKX picks! I am not a fan of Kuatan Jungle and that ugly a$$ Special Forces Training room in MKX.
MK11 - I am not a huge fan of:
Special Forces Desert Command (gets me thirsty just from looking at it, also that canon is up in your face I would prefer they add more.. soldiers and whatnot)
Tank Garage Bunker - looks like a StreetFighter stage imo
Shang Tsung's Island Ruins (lacks color!)
Prehistoric Age - I would prefer something more eerie for MK tbh
Kronika's Hourglass.. gives me a headache
Black Market Alley - just overall meh stage!
Black Dragon Fight Club - a downgrade from MKX refugee camp... I hate the fact they put a nasty old mattress at the corner of the stage like wth is this ;)


Yes, it's a heavy list I know.. !

Kuatan Jungle is REALLY good for Cyrax and Cyber Sub-Zero due to armored interactable bomb launchers.

My favorite MK11 stage is probably the Tank Garage Bunker. I can do armored interactable bomb resets with Frost-byte in the left corner.

Mk9: Nearly everything aside from rooftop, street, etc.
Mkx: kove, krossroads, deadwoods, quan chi's fortress, outworld market
Mk11: Dragon grotto only. Maybe shinnok's temple, Scorpion's fire garden, Charon ship.

I don't like earthly and SF stages at all.

I dont get why everyone lives the pit. I think it's one if the most boring. It's just a bridge with little stuff happening in the background. Other than it has a stage fatality I dont get it.

Also why were there no stage fatality/brutalities in MK11...
