MK11 on PC: Worth it?

Hello there, whoever's reading this! Looking for some advice I guess.
I bought MK11 on release on PS4 and have been playing it on there ever since. However, since then I managed to build myself a half decent PC, got some Xbox 360 controllers with an adapter and have been enjoying some newer games.
So, I logged on to Steam today and saw a WB sale. In my country MK11 Premium Edition on Steam costs less than Kombat Pack on PSN, plus I wouldn't have to pay the PS+ subscription.
However, I have been burned by MKX PC version and am very suspicious of WB's practices. I know a fair amount of people here play on PC, so I wanted to know. Is it treated like an afterthought? Are there more bugs/cheaters? Does content come out with a large delay? Is it worth spending money on over other versions?

Your circumstances are dire!
Aside from :
  1. Some players using lagswitch and one of them using macros (to perfectly react to anything you do)
  2. Some glitches here and there
  3. Disconnects during gameplay
  4. Some performance issues
  5. Usually gets patched a week later or two
  6. Not as big of a population as PS4
It's perfectly fine for ME.

It's worth it. I've been on PS4 from release till my console broke in late August. Then I bought it on PC just before Terminator release. Basically what John_NX said but nothing major. There's more than enough people playing, you get desynced (online matches) here and then, no biggie. There's some weird flashing on one or two stages but again, nothing major or game breaking. Patches come later but that's not an issue really. DLC is always on time though. For me it's exactly the same as on PS4. It's even better actually because there are less people on wifi.

You mean from the server during towers/krypt or disconnects from the opponent during online play? Because really I have that often on PS4 anyway.
People do have trouble in both towers and general online matches, but it's not near as bad as it was, and I think most people are generally issue free at this point. I tend to prefer being on PC.

It does sound like the number of jerks doing stunts to mess with stats or tilt odds in their favor are are higher on PC. You do have winners like this guy to deal with: https://steamcommunity.com/app/976310/discussions/0/1640927348820348889/

The population is lower. It's not bad, it's just not the same as PS4. You are also at risk of running into people playing underspec or something. I fought someone about a week ago and the game was running about 10 frames too slow, so I bailed. I don't ever see the FPS rating of people anymore, but when it was there it showed me lots of people aren't running the game at full frames. You just don't have to worry about that on PS4, but then you also don't get 60FPS menu's and cinema scenes which are a sweet perk of the PC.

Honestly, the game has a playerbase, and runs well for most people. If you know you like the game, and you can get it affordably then you will probably not end up regretting have the PC copy.

Dont bother. Bugs are fixed 1 month late or never. If game gets a big patch and bug appears right after you wont receive fix until next patch which is usually 2 months difference. Also I recommend you use unlocker mod IF you decide to buy it. The game is pretty much the same thing you would get on PS4,but I would rather go for PS4 if you are capable of getting it. In short,if you REALLY,REALLY,REALLY want to play it ON PC,buy it. If not, dont.

OP said they already have it on PS4. The question is as it if it is worth re-buying it with everything for cheaper than it would cost to by the kombat pack on PS4 AND maybe save money in the long run by not having to pay for PSN.

On those points, if you just want access to the extra characters, then getting them cheapest you can to lab them makes sense - assuming you don't want to play more than maybe one of them seriously. That lab knowledge is still transferable to PS4 when fighting others. That's what I did. BEFORE Shang came out the Kombat pack was 50% off on Steam. That means I got the Kombat back for half of what other people payed and I got all the content at the same time. That was a hella sus as a deal, but I took them up on it. It makes PC the platform I lab on, and PS4 one that I play on when I'm just chilling in the living room.

As far as saving money by dropping PSN, that is a question that goes well beyond one game. All the major fighters have PC editions, and people should probably be taking more advantage of there being a platform where you don't have to pay for online, but many don't. It's cheaper, but it's an investment in the platform that comes at the cost of players. It's not a decision that should revolve around one game.

Unlocker mod?
There’s a mod for Pc that unlocks everything. Skins/brutality’s/announcers/icons... the works.
The biggest downsides imo are lower player base and the late patching is hella annoying. For instance the last balance patch was like two weeks late but the patch that came out the next day on PS4 to buff kano’s damage till now is still not out on Pc.

And that doesn't get you banned? I thought the info for that was stored on NRS servers.
But thank you, I'll look into it.

@Hacenit I've been playing since launch, and I'd say it's worth it. This port is night and day over the launch of Mortal Kombat X on PC. It launched in excellent condition, though a patch released in May introduced a lot of performance issues for many people. It was slowly improved over time and I believe was fixed properly in July.

The only real issues left are nuisance issues. The flashing someone else mentioned, which happens on the odd stage, is random, rare, and apparently limited to nVidia cards. Patches traditionally come a week or so after the PlayStation 4 gets them, so keep that in mind if that's a deal breaker for you. DLC does indeed release on-time. Currently, we are one Hotfix behind as @DeftMonk mentioned.

I've also never had disconnectors or anything Online, though I believe I've had a lag switcher now and then. I play pretty casually though so it doesn't matter to me.

The PC version is also the best looking version of the game overall, allowing for 60 FPS Intros and Cut Scenes, as well as a 60 FPS Krypt if your system can handle it.

If serious competitive play is a big thing for you though, you will want to stick with the PlayStation 4 version, as that's where the truly competitive community is. Otherwise, I'd say go for the PC version, and as others have mentioned, not needing a subscription service for Multiplayer is fantastic as well.

Also, don't forget that Steam has refunds, something not available on the console versions either as far as I know. You can give the game a try completely risk-free, and if you don't like it, simply apply for that refund!

As with any mod, I believe it can. I personally avoid mods, just to be safe. I don't need, or care about, a pallette swapped costume that much.

I play on PC... it is a really good port. I have not had any crashes, the game is responsive and there is low(ish) wait times for games. There is a smaller group of players so you get to know people a bit, but all in all I think the PC version is very good.

The port is about a week behind the console for updates and patches, and has its own patches that come out just for the pc version (as in pc engine patches or w/e not bug nrs adjustments that happen on all ports).

Just make sure you run it as reasonable specs. PC gamers like to max all the settings out as we are given more options, but unless you have a mega beast, it is probably best to keep the specs in line with the console. If you are getting 15 FPS but are running it is ultraHD 8K and everything on max, it is not the games fault it is slow. I run mine to match the PS4 and it looks fantastic and runs very well.

AFAIK no one has been banned. And yea the mod goes into NRS's servers and modifies your information.
That sounds really weird. What is even the point of that system then if it can be circumvented so easily?

Not at full price imo.
Actually i think that it's not worth at full price on any platform.
It's around 15 bucks for full game + kombat pack (regional pricing). Pretty much the only reason I'm considering getting it on another platform.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably get it tomorrow, I think my PC is good enough to match or surpass the PS4 settings so I should be fine. I pretty much exactly match the recommended specs anyway.
Cheers!

@Hacenit $15.00 is an amazing price. That cheap, go for it.

Out of curiosity, what is your system specs?
Ryzen 3 1200
GTX 1060 3Gb version
24 GB RAM (currently at 2400, plan to be up to 32 GB at 2666 by the end of the month, take out the two 2400 4GB sticks)
I have an SSD but don't really install games on it, just the system.

Wtfuk? 15 bucks full game and kombat pack????????????? Holy ballz
I live in Russia and the income here is a bit different to put it lightly. So, regional pricing.

Wait..people cheat worse than the console version on the PC? What the hell is that, react to anything? Someone else on here told me it's easier to cheat on the PC few months back.
