I remember someone earlier was talking about a discord for Johnny. That doesn't sound like a bad idea, it'd keep the trolls out at least.

We just want the character to be consistent on all cast, you know, game dev AAA quality, not indie game made in a tent.

And we want usable KBs, not 7 like the god tiers but at least 3 in each variation.

Just a quick point of clarification: That response that was quoted from me was from another thread, and wasn't made about anything or anyone specifically in this thread. I'm not trying to make an argument one way or another about Cage, or downplaying, or up-playing.

If you git gud you'll know when something will whiff and wont open yourself up to the opportunity. You can condition people to respect his highs, even the females. You just have to adjust your gameplay a little bit and fine tune it to who you play.

Hitboxes need adjusted across the game but until then, stop being a broken record. You can't change a damn thing top players say.

An example of how to "condition", d1 into 124 works, on EVERYBODY. Period. It's a simple follow up but plus 6 is damn good. It allows you to either go for a d1 (which grants you another 124), or a d4, bait a followup, etc etc. Once you get people conditioned to it, you can do other types of strings. There is no ONE way to play this character and I feel that every MU needs to be played a little bit differently. He adjusts to the player not the character neccesarily.

This thread will no longer be a bitching ground. I have neglected it in hopes that you guys would get your shit together but I forgot that this is TYM in 2019.

Strings, how and what you use and when is one thing. That is what the non-trolls have been doing here since the game came out.

However just accepting that in half the matchups we play half the character because NRS couldn't care less is a no no.

Surely we adapt because we have no choice but keeping silent would mean it's ok like this and a good decision on the game part which is completely wrong.

It's bullshit to just bow down and take it. It's not even dlc, the game was bought with expectation the character is consistent in all matchups and it was a scam, actively avoided by NRS since day 1.

I'm sorry but that is not bitching.

It is a legit complain and a slap in the face for the character loyalists and I do not intend to keep quiet about it.

If someone comes in here at page 110 and sees all flowers and happiness they will think the character is fine, which it's not true.

I don't care about buffs or nerfs, I'm tired about 87/100 matches being sonya and cassie where i'm reverted into a d4 spamming machine. I want to use all my tools.

Thank god for the 3rd variation, even if it might be crap at least it looks like it would be the same consistent crap across the cast which is what I want.

Ah and also one last thing d1 after 124 does not work at all midscreen or corner since you have to dash in and you will get clipped. That bit alone makes me wonder who have you been playing with Cage that they let you do it. Sure it works in a bo2 online with people that never labbed the matchup but in the group I play with (and we played thousands of matches) they have learned Cage and nobody is afraid of the fake pressure he has and will not let that kind of gimmick fly.

There is no conditioning you can do here, it's a follow up after a clear string that always fails in the same places no matter what you do.

Currently nobody is succeding with cage at top level in the mk11 tournament scene.
Everyone preaches he's godlike but nobody walks the walk. Silverrye tried and dropped the character after a week.
Can't wait to see Sonic steamroll the cassie/sonya counterpicks, of course given the fact they don't just let go of block mid b34 as they did in inj2 with cold.

Has anyone attempted to learn the raptor OS? I’m specifically testing f4~nut punch. I can’t seem to do it. All I get is F34 on hit and f4 on block. So I know I’m doing it right...but no nut punch

By the way, you actually have means of doing a fairly damaging restand in Showstopper aside from the heavy frameadvantage which a simple f21 ender brings. Obviously, the advantages of this is the plus frames as well as the unbreakable nature.

You can actually get a 270'ish damage standing reset off a f344 camera into j2, b2 and then f21 into camera. It isnt unbreakable, but if your opponent has just used a breakaway, and you wanna cash out on some damage, I can see it being somewhat useful albeit situational. Or maybe it's trash lul just wanted to share cause I havent seen anyone posting this in here.

For standing resets in showstopper I use 34 into bf2. The hit advantage on bf2 is buns but I prefer it over F21 because it just seems so obvious to people that it's a reset.

However, pointing out fake information is not complaining. If someone comes here with an informative post that you like, saying you can jail d1 after 124, obviously they need to be corrected.

Having fake information here is not helping any new player picking up the character.

For example, ending the deathkombo in camera restand +3 while having 2% life left would mean death in 9/10 cases against an experienced player that played the cage matchup hundreds of times.

Sure I can post a video of the one time it worked and get "wow, so unviable!!!" but that won't win me the other 9 times and it most certainly won't help new players when they try it and just die non stop thinking it should have worked but they're not good enough.

They need to know the good and the bad, you can't just call the bad "complaining" and remove it.

For example:

The third variation is coming. Rising shoulder is a very fast mid special that is godlike for reversals or certain gaps.

It also grants a full combo if you anti air with it, following up with s1, dash 2, dash 121 ender.

HOWEVER:

You will not be able to reversal punish certain specials that leave the opponent at random distances after you block the attack. The horizontal hitbox of the attack is very small and will leave you whiffing and getting punished for trying the reversal.

Another problem is that you will not be able to use it after f344 or 244 on block, if the opponent stand blocks your kicks.

They will get pushed back more and it will whiff, getting you s1 into full combo punished before the amplify comes out.

Unless they fixed the hitbox in the next patch, it will not be as viable as everyone thinks, in block pressure.

You can already make a custom loadout with the same moves. He wasn't even downplaying, he was just presenting whiff issues he found in the lab, which could very well not be fixed with the patch, based off of NRS history.

How often do y'all use the flash parry? It seems to only really be good for throws on a read and jump ins But it definitely catches people off guard and they tend to lock up

Could he use minor fixes? Of course, but he isn’t at the top of the list of characters who need them.

Is there a real reason to use him other than if he’s your favorite character? In my opinion, not really.

But that doesn’t make him shitty or terrible or whatever these people are saying.

It just makes him mediocre, a “Ford Focus” as you will.

Yes, certain people in this thread need to level up their game a bit more, but I think the ones saying stuff so they can be popular and accepted on an ONLINE forum need to level up their integrity.
