I think MK 12 would benefit if A. the wake ups worked like MK 9, with armor, actually able to get out of corner or crowd pressure like wake ups are intended to. B. If they're like MK 11, they HAVE to be universal, everyone has the same U3, U2 etc and actually work instead of whiff so you know you can respect them like MK 9's. C. They need to change it so that it doesn't take defensive meter or any meter. Because just think if the wake up is ass(like a lot in this game are) then guess what I just wasted a bar of meter for not doing it's job.

I'd also love it if MK 12 introduced a new push back wake up mechanic where one way or another it gets you space away from someone hounding you. If it hits, works similar to a breaker where they get punched back to jump kick distance if they block they get pushback slide. Just think how much this would help against busted characters up close like Jax, Geras, LK etc, etc

Not saying I'm against your ideas but the community always gives NRS a free pass with "next game, next game, next game etc." We need them to address THIS game's problems. They don't learn from their mistakes they just do different things. I'd put my money on NRS never addressing the broken hitboxes in this game. Next patch will be another vocal bandaid in the form of "liu f4 10f startup now" ad infinitum.
The point is this is sloppy work that makes the game look and feel illegitimate. I want some real accountability on this one.

Yeah, all good didn't mean to go off on a rant but my point is the game has multiple issues I did comment on this one though if you read my entire reply regarding the hitboxes in my initial reply. ;)

The shit with Cage is unfortunate & im hoping theirs gonna be another round of hitbox updates to make things consistent but y’all have got to get actual perspective about what’s broken & what’s not. It’s actually ridiculous & eyeroll worthy how people on here are acting.

I think people are noticing it more this time around because of the focus on neutral play but my ass if it's worse than past NRS games. Stuff like Johnny's forceball whiffing is unfortunate and should be touched up, but so was Brainiac's beta strikes doing the same exact thing. Do any Tremor players out there remember losing 7% on midscreen BNBs because female hurtboxes? Bo Rai's Monkey Flips whiffing on ducking females and Lao? Tremor's shatter whiffing twice in a top 8 set where it would have hit and won DJT the set against Sonicfox?

Those latter two got patched, but speaking of patches, MK11's hit advantage change fixed a ton of old problems. Now you do a poke and trust that every character will be hit by your follow up, not just the males. How about your high hitting punish whiffing on Sub-Zero's slide? How about Catwoman doing Catdash and you have to do a d1 because your character's S1 whiffs? Stuff like awkward trades were always there and yeah a lot of other fighters see stuff like that too.

I also think another part of it is that two player animations(like Krushing Blows) can be jarring because it teleports the opponent to the proper location for the animation rather then just a typical trade knockdown. Anyway, no way this game has worse hitbox stuff then past games, especially after they fixed the hit advantage which plagued these games in the past.

Happens to me frequently after a roll and depending on what char I am playing, after a crossup. If this happened once in the entirety of my playing this game I would still be like WTF and tell my friends they messed up during testing or some shit. But as you can see from this thread...it isn't just a once in a blue moon occurance. Or an overhead whiffing on a crouchblocking char. This kind of shit is stupid.

On the flip side of the coin, this game is quite balanced (for the most part). There are some retarded ass KB and stuff like that but it's pretty good in this department and the game is fun. If you guys refuse to acknowledge the hitbox issues like they don't exist and defend NRS, you're just part of the problem not the solution.

That exact thing happened to me!!!!!!! Exactly the same shit!!!! I rolled past the opponent out of the corner and got hit by an attack that was still going into the corner.

Im aware and it has not been changed. I main Lao and im aware of the workarounds i needed to figure out because my universal anti air move has a stupid hitbox that whiffs entirely on multiple airborne opponents.
 
Was playing in the kombat kangs season 3 today and the same shit happened. Kang was doing his f3 string and i jumped over it. Literally got hit when i was behind him. Between the lag, the unrelenting jax, kang and jacquis, and the hit box issues its sucking the life outta this brilliant game for me.

To be fair I'll have to double check but I don't think I really have any instances of the same thing happening over and over. Like its not my D2 whiffing up close over and over. But some things that are just ridiculous even if they are isolated they are things that probably shouldn't happen in a fighting game that is "finished".

I don't look up to anyone lmao, and Krypt being broken how & what unbeatable Towers? Goofy stuff happens in FGs with hitboxes all the time, I can't count the number of times I've gotten fucked because Feng Wei's QCF1 decided to phase through someone for no reason. This stuff gets worked on & it's not that bad compared to other games I've played & continue to play.

This is normal for FGs, it's just the D3 hurtbox colliding with Throw Box, like y'all this kind of stuff is common in FGs please get some perspective.

My favourite part is when my moves whiff on crouch block if you character is exhaling . And when you're using the wrong skin. But that must be because I'm Johnny player right @trufenix ? That's irrelevant and just okay for you right?

You don't notice those issues if you don't play the game a lot. I, unfortunately, play it a lot and the thing that drives me up the wall the most by far are the inconsistencies in hitboxes. I was bitching about how weird Cassie's combos were during week 1, I had NO idea. NO IDEA.

I was playing Liu against Jacqui and was wondering why on one side, it seemed that 12 whiffed for no reason. Wtf, like we're what, 5 months in? This is so far from professional for NRS. I can't believe they have us a balance patch, but no actual hitbox fixes. Even if they did fix some, there are still so many instances of things hitting when they shouldn't or vice versa.

I don't know if it's something that's extremely hard to do in the coding department, but they should really consider FIXING THEIR SHIT.

This game has the worst hitboxes of any NRS title since mk9. There's no excuse. They should get better not worse. There's a plethora of dumbshit that shouldnt have been in the game on release nevermind after like 5 months or whatever we are at now.

either they're lazy or just making idiotic balance decisions.

Yeah NGL, I don't buy this "worst hitboxes in NRS history". Surely it could be improved, but I still remember dropping Brainiac because S1 whiffing and beta strike being dramatically better against 1/3rd of the cast, still remember overheads whiffing in MKX along with female only BnBs, fucking ball roll. It's been a while but I'm sure IGAU and MK9 had plenty of jank like this. The change to hitstun hurtboxes to allow for consistently jailing pokes alone made it better then the last couple games.

I think one of the things working against people's perception is that KB's look ugly when you get clipped, only to be teleported to the correct location for the animation. I also think the game is more about those neutral interactions where you would find hanky looking interactions, as opposed to more explosive setplay or zoning. So I hope they improve, but I think it's better with this then MKX and Injustice 2.

Bro you can love NRS all you want but don't say rediculous shit out there like that above JC clip happens in tekken or SF or any game with half as much production $ behind it as MK11. This is the thing of mk11 I really don't like...contrary to what some say balance is ok and game is fun but this kind of shit is inexcusable.
Yeah, those other games just have the shittiest netplay and stalest design, even though they’ve been a “competitive staple” for decades.
NRS has a bunch of issues with their fighting games, but let’s stop licking that Capcock and TekkTwat like it’s some gourmet shit.

I would like it if strings pokes and fatal blows didnt hit backwards.

I would like it if your mid strings didnt horribly drop if you catch someone jumping.

I would like it if i didnt get magnet grabbed from 10 feet away poking.

I would like matchups and me having to switch off a variation or character wasnt determined by their hitbox.

There was odd strings and low profiling that was annoying in the other games. This game every character seems to have some serious jank.

From a design standpoint, balancing around known huge hitbox issues is lazy and garbage. There are numerous issues NRS should have fixed a year ago but no, we can just get more tower related patch changes.
