Webpage 'Comicbook' recently published an article featuring a video showing hitbox inconsistencies originally posted on reddit.
The writer claims "As you may know, hitboxes have been somewhat of an issue for the fighting game since it launched earlier this year. It's not a constant issue, but it does rear its head every once in awhile." And "...this isn't an issue plaguing the game, but it happens enough that hardcore players have taken notice of it."
From my perspective, hitbox issues have been a glaring fault since launch. We haven't received any official word from Netherrealm Studios about the inconsistent hitboxes. Will this ever be addressed?
It makes you wonder if certain moves were discouraged from connecting for design choices or complete negligence.
The writer also states "the worst thing is that it's not even consistent character wise. It can happen with just about any fighter in the game." This would be the worst thing, execpt for that beneath the surface these issues are completely consistent given the right circumstance. Sometimes these circumstances are hard to replicate in a live scenario, sometimes they happen everytime quirky "tech" is applied. The message sent is that the player should "figure it out" and that the dedicated playerbase will play through it and develop how the game should be played on their own. More instances of forcing hitboxes to whiff are being uncovered. Are players figuring the game out or just abusing unintentional flaws?
Tl;dr should Netherrealm take responsibility for this? Are you upset about this yet?
