Okay, I'll admit, I was disappointed at first, still am a little bit, but after some quick labbing, I think I like what we have now:

Being able to cancel into Camera off of B34 feels pretty significant to me and the Shades KB change gives us even more unbreakable damage than before. I don't know if this makes Showstopper absolutely viable now, but it's a helluva lot better than before. Now if only they buffed base Shades, 'cause that move is still pretty poo. Camera still doesn't connect after a midscreen F4, though, but it WILL connect if you land a JIP beforehand. That's weird.

Also, people refer to Johnny as variationless. Why not buff some of his normals or AT LEAST change KBs requirements.

i seriously wish that someone finds some amazing tech, I really do. I love Johnny and i want to be BTFO. But that answer was just sad. Did they even address Johnny in the stream? Any justifications?

Okay, fuck it. I'm riding this Showstopper train now. After watching Killabyte's vid on advanced pressure with Scorpion, and seeing @DeftMonk mention using the MASSIVE plus frames off of F3 more in his gameplan, I found that we have an unbreakable +17 restand combo that's WAY better than anything Nut Punch could ever hope to offer. This is pretty damn huge, as it's now a guess between us staggering into another combo that they HAVE to block, or a grab.

EDIT: D1 JAILS PROPERLY INTO S1 AND S2 AGAINST FEMALES NOW.

So to add onto this, you get a sort of 50/50. After ending a combo in F3, you can b3 or short hop 3/4. You’re so plus they have to choose. There’s a 7 frame difference between the 2 moves but because the overhead is faster, it’s more difficult to block, especially if you fuck with the timing. This could be a useful tool.

Best I managed to find so far in the midscreen is ending a BnB with S4xxCamera. Camera will whiff and it knocks them far enough away that normals and most wake-up specials shouldn't reach. Fast advancing specials like Jacqui's dash punch and our own Shadow Kick would still reach though.

If you want plus frames, his S2 is +24. EDIT: It doesn't allow for a follow-up overhead, but it's still +24 to play with.

Johnny Cage - Throwing Shade Krushing Blow now does 90 damage (from 170) and causes a true stun.

And it doesnt matter at all...
Never gonna happen in a real match because of bad KB requirement for Say Cheese.

The pro players have really been super vocal about how good Johnny supposedly is. Even Sylverrye argued he was top tier when commenting on Deoxys tier list. Honestly I think Deoxys is the only one who actually was really vocal about whiffing impacting him so much. I think this is a big thing. Many pros have been vocal about her (JADE) weaknesses all the while the only player repping Johnny has been of the opinion he's super strong. And generally whenever people talk about Johnny it's always the narrative that he's such a sleeper hit, he's underrated yadda yadda

Never trust them until they main them and win a lot. Definitely was uplayed . They just want Cassie to be represented more, look how she gets all his staple move with kbs. She should have the camera bs, Johnny cage should have the nut kb and shadow kick. She ripped him off.
