Overall Review of the Krypt

Well I spent 1m in the shrine and didn’t get one single skin . Therefore I have dried out the shrine pool of skins . So here’s my quick review of the Krypt .

Plus side of the Krypt it’s very interesting place , that tells the story of Mortal Kombat very well. Goro Lair is very well done with lots surprises and great fan service.

Obtaining gear/ skins for most of the part was up and down grind fest. Once you learn how to use your mask and get Kenshi hidden chests . It went by fast .

Shang Tsuang Palace was a gold mine of intros and it’s was pretty cool unlock .

Kollectors trade ins we’re easy once you figured out the hidden chests had most of them .

The downside of the Krypt, is you quickly abandon soul chests and heart chests . I’m currently sitting at 106k souls with nothing to use them on . . The itemization is off with lots tool tip errors . Young justice for example is not in the krypt .

The forge was neat concept I wish they expanded further and let you make more gear and even skins . You given way too much resources that you will never use.

Overall I would rate the Krypt experience 6/10 . While fun to look at , it could of been much better with how you obtain gear .

The ground work is there it’s somthing they can definelty expand upon as I think they will move forward with the RPG element . It’s one of kind element they have that other fighting games don’t

I know its a MK thing but i honestly hate the Krypt.

I hate RNG boxes and i hate not being able to unlock stuff through PvP. I hate how there are 4 different currencies like some mobile game. If i have to play single player to unlock stuff i prefer it be like the ToT.

My biggest problem with it atm is I can’t get a fucking skeleton key for shitttt. I’ve restocked hundreds of chests to no avail.

Hell, Im not even getting any concept art anymore. Just tower consumables, augments and Forge material.


The shrine is still giving me Gear at 75K and skins at 100K but is there a magic number for Skeleton keys? lol

Diminishing returns is what ruins the Krypt.
I've got like 4000 chests opened and spent millions on the shrine and I'm still missing one third of the concept art and a couple of gear pieces and icons from chests/the shrine, because the game has decided I have too much stuff and doesn't give out any more.

I wonder if I can have a doobie and check out all the concept art when the patch comes out. If not I'll be hella mad.

i still need a couple skeleton keys to get a few costumes or whatever is in them and I never get those. I'm guessing the remaining costumes I have left are behind those. I think we need a quality of life update in general as I have stated before. I think the map in the krypt could be a tad better. like for example, if you already explored an area you can view the direction or the actual floor rather than have to run. I also think AI battles in towers should have the option to speed it up like it does in the AI Battle mode. The krypt does have neat graphics which I don't know why they don't just add them as backgrounds even if simple. It seems though they are changing the rarity up of certain items. But I dunno. I also think since they are on this palatte swap costume frenzy of largely the same 4 costumes they could at least make some better color schemes. I really like the glowing look that some of the revanent skins have. Cetrion has cool ones too. It would be neat if they all had Rainbow outfits, options to turn Rainbow Kombat on, similar to how the do the announcer changes. The Kronika voice is amazing. I still wish they could somehow bring Steve Ritchie back.

I would rate it about a 8/10, would be higher if not for the lame ass, random shrine(at least let us choose WHAT random item we get) like example a set amount of coins should be an icon, boarder guaranteed. Another amount gear pieces(like the 75 k and 100 k for outfits) but this isn't the case for cheaper items and it's so dumb. Hundreds of icons/boarders and they don't even give you one consistently.

Also, it's glitchy sometimes it freezes on occasion and I lost half my items in inventory though I've completed the krypt so doesn't matter but still, the Kombat Kard info is inaccurate says I haven't completed story which I did first few days and some how some of my icons including season 1 of KL icon and boarders including the Twitch ones are gone, how and why IDK but since their last updates and I get this lame glitch saying something about "can't save replays or saves continue without saving" has this happened to anyone else? I play on xbox, so now I have to unlock all those icons, boarders again.

My level thank God remains the same, all the skins and gear pieces I've gotten too it's just an issue with icons, boarders and krypt items for whatever reason disappeared from my inventory including the heads, and some amulets though like I've said I've completed it so the krypt itself has the heads, amulets in the keys etc, etc I think the krypt is glitchy as hell and was not a fan of the grinding honestly. We're still grinding for certain outfits not even there(when they should be) and gear pieces as well as icons, boarders. They should just set a flat amount in the future like you want an icon or boarder pay 2,000 for common or 10,000 koins for rare and for sure you'll get a pair. You want konsumables, pay 8,000. You want augments, pay 16,000-20,000 etc etc. I don't understand why they did this with gear pieces and skins/outfits but not with everything else...

pure garbage .... I miss when I could waste time exploring the krypt, opening all chests, and , in the end, after some hours, having everything accessible, easy going ..... like MK9 and MKX ....

the layout of MK11 krypt is cool , I give them that .... but, the grinding fest, the rng algorythm, these are bullshit to extreme ..... so the MK11 krypt is only fun to explore the very first time, after that, once you learn how its reward system works, it's totally disapointment .....

2/10 only because the layout is fun to run on it first time (explore the Shang island on third person) .... after that, the rest, forgetable and stupid as fuck

Here's my review: This sucks. I bought MK to fight. I want to unlock things in MK by fighting. I don't like doing this half-way adventure mode to unlock stuff especially repeatedly. I've played the game for hours and hours and have barely anything unlocked because I hate this system.

I think we will see a lot more of it though . It’s what helps seperate it from all the other fighting games out .
