Does Scorpion’s teleport drive anyone else mad?

In MKX, you knew when he EXed it so that you can block the 2nd hit and punish accordingly, but in MK11, he can throw out a random teleport, and then you have to guess whether he’s gonna amplify or not. If you try to punish him and he amplifies, he launches you. If you hold block expecting he’s gonna amplify and he doesn’t, he’s gonna grab you.

Now I’m not calling for nerfs or anything, but how can this be countered?

You wait just a bit longer and you'll still have time to punish. Try to lab it. Record the ai doing mb teleport into grab. Find the window to punish with a grab after the mb. It's the cancel that's irritating and should not exist, the mb is no big deal once you learn to punish it.

That was the worst scorpion ever, that’s easy When it’s all they do, that guy didn’t even cancel. Play a good scorpion before u post a video.
he picked a pocked one because he though this was going to work, regardless every single scorpion amplifies teleport, you have to be ready to react to it good or bad.

The flawless block is key to many things, including, preventing some of the most annoying strings in the game to even continue after the first hit.

Go to training mode, record two teleports, one with amplify then play it on random, and try to punish both, the second one if you can flawless block it.

He’s not using the cancel, that’s what’s hard. The cancel it’s s free 50/50 pretty much cause u have to hold block.

After so many Scorpions in MKX with that 12 cancel BS and so many teleport cancels in to d3 to grab scrub tactic , this Scorpion Teleport comes in slow motion for me lol

You don’t have to guess at all. The amp TP can’t be delayed. Go in the training mode, learn the timing, & punish accordingly.

HAHAH, just practice more, scorpions will become rare
Not pretty sure what are you trying to prove with this video... Every time he didn't amplify, you couldn't punish. He even hit you once or twice with the amplify (after you blocked the teleport) because you basically guessed wrong.

If anything, what you showed here is exactly what the op is saying, and that scorpion was pretty bad. Amplify on block is just bs.

Yeah, you can fuzzy it, but it's what, a 3-6 frame window? For a move that's pretty much unreactable, and can whiff punish you (and full combo) from anywhere in the screen at any moment? And we are not even considering teleport cancel.. for me it's super cheap

The cancel needs to go.
Y’all need to lab more. There’s no 50/50 with the cancel. If the cancel is done on the ground it leaves him just outside of throw distance. If done airborne, it leaves him directly on top of you.

Knowing this, every time he cancels in the air you get a free low poke. If he cancels on the ground he can bait pokes by either walking in for a throw or walking back and punishing your buttons. In that case you simply walk backwards.

Lol bro you don’t have to fuzzy guard a amp TP. It’s 2 Mids. You can block either standing or crouching.

Come on not just scrubs play Scorpion and the character is strong without the yolo teleport.
He did not flawless block your gaps either. :)

I did not play Skarlet matchup (on neither side) yet therefore I can not decide who is winning. Scorpion has 13F U2 therefore parry cancel in the gaps is a thing. U3 is 9F though. But probably you will be scared too after the first flawless block punish... :)

Maybe we need to wait few more weeks and at least more people will learn the match ups.

Devs probably gave Scorpion this stuff just to keep people attention... to talk about it lol. Competitively that move will not cause any trouble.

Now it is pretty "scrub killer" dirt which I do not like but no problem with that - as I try to work-around it.

Against Skarlet there are other things to lab... :) And other characters have different things to lab.

You can not really lab too much against Scorpion (maybe fb F34, punishing B2), so you spend your time punishing teleport lol.

Well I usually say fuzzy to os too, my bad... I still think the point is clear. You need to wait a little after first hit is blocked. So -20 becomes something like -10 to -12. Most punishes have a startup of 8-9 frames. Meaning you basically have a 1-4 frame window to punish that.

LOL Thats a " a lot " of assumptions . Thats the all point . its not the move itself , its all the mind games the move creates . The teleport is already a great move it tracks the opponent , hits on the air , its full combo on hit , its fast has hell . A move like this with all this advantages as to have a downside . If you commit to the move you have to take the good with the bad . That the all point .
