dang..i wanted to sign up, was even one of the first people to post on the thread and still didnt make it into the tournament.

GL everyone. I look forward to seeing the brackets. Did someone say predictions?! Anyone predict which 8 are going to make the cut?

Looks to me like every pool is pretty stacked.

Also, since the pool play is split into separate nights, is it going to be standard double elim format for each pool? or is it just a bracket with single elimination?

Double elim pool play is better imo, since you have a better chance for the best 2 players from each pool to advance that way in case the best two players fight right away.

Don't think you really need that input tho.. but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Why can't we see if we can get 4 more pools of 8, and simply tack them on next week to comprise a top 16 tourney at the conclusion of the 8 pools? Seems like we have enough gents willing and able. If so, I'd be in like flynn, it would be on like neck bone.

I dont' think you really should worry about this not happening again. the STB guys seems to love this type of exhibition and they have a few of the Mortal Monday guys that love the MK community as well.
Hell this is the 3rd tourney basically 2 and a half weeks?

Since this is a first of its kind type of thing suggestions are welcome!

for the third time in a row we got way more interest than we anticipated and didnt expect this to be so big! When this one finishes perhaps Ill try to get a 48 or should I even dare 64 man tourney going!


I should mention btw, that if you enter the top 8 through the losers bracket, you will STAY in the losers side. They will not be reset. This gives you a little extra incentive to win your pool i would think.

How about players can't enter 2 consecutively, for variation....with the exception of the previous winner?

Just a suggestion.....

I think the EU guys should have the same thing going here. Then combine the top 8's for a top 16 and BAM!!! I'm excited to where this is going, and personally it makes me want to level up, to earn just a bit of "crap... he's going to give me a run for my money here" type respect. :)

The only reason I don't love that idea is that I'm probably the weakest EU player :)

Brackets look great! This is going to be a lot of fun.

I've been winning some cash in the small local scene. Excited to play some bettter players. Hopefullly I don't get bodied and realize I'm bad
