Mileena as DLC. How would you feel?

I'm a bit split on this one myself, being completely honest.

While I do like the character a lot, this almost feels like a character that should just be in the base game as a hidden character. Or...since they're doing a whole, messing of the timelines, having her past version come back in to enter the story.

I already think Shang Tsung should have been base roster/unlockable, seeing as how he's technically already in the game. Now this? This one would be even more of a kicker. I just always find it weird when fighting games put their usually series regulars in as DLC as if they shouldn't have been base roster to begin with.

Then again, this is NRS. And while I enjoy them as a company, I do know how much they love their money. I.E.: Knowing Red Hood and Starfire were the top two most wanted last game, and instead of including them as base roster in Part 2, they put them in as first hype DLC.

I've always felt that if Mileena wasn't on the main roster, she would definitely be DLC. With what happened to her in MKX, I wouldn't be surprised of her not being on the main roster - but then we saw Baraka on it which meant that anything could happen.

However, Mileena is probably the most popular female character of the franchise with a VERY vocal fanbase, so I have no doubt that she will at least be DLC. If not in Kombat Pack 1, then in Kombat Pack 2.

I'd feel... hmm... indifferent / 10 + happy for those who like to play as her (...and she'd be a much better addition than some of the others that have already been guaranteed a roster slot).

Well if it's a classic MK character I'll buy it, but it'll feel wierd since they intenionally held back on MK9 characters being MKX DLC and having a Fighter Pack 0 for Injustice 2.

As long as she makes it in I’d be very happy. As much as I love Kitana, I love Mileena just as much if not more.

Plus, having Kitana with no Mileena feels weird in a main MK game. And before anyone brings it up, get that 3D shit out of here.

She is one of the most iconic / popular characters in the series.

She fits the time travel storyline

She will make NRS a freaking tonne of money

She has been left out of the roster for this reason

She will be in as DLC

I play Mileena and I'm bummed she's not in the game, so on the one hand I'd love for her to be in by any means necessary. On the other hand, given how legacy these games are, it would really feel like they were nickel-and-diming us. If she's in the game she ought to be base roster.

That said, SFV did the same thing with Guile, Juri, Balrog, etc. and I was happier to have them than to not have them.

It really depends HOW MANY Mortal Kombat (non-guest) characters are going to be added via DLC. If there are only 1-2 women, I'd much rather see Sindel or Sheeva get a chance to return -- or even see someone like Sareena, Li Mei, or Ashrah get a chance at rehabilitation -- than have to pay extra for a character who was just in MKX.

If they plan multiple seasons like SFV, then bring on whoever -- let's add the whole Trilogy cast over years, plus the 3D characters like Kenshi and Tanya who are worth a damn. But we have no indication they're planning to do that, and to date NRS hasn't.

The confirmed leak showed the 25 characters we know about. Another "leak" a few days afterward, text only, added the supposed unlockables.

If anything, Shang Tsung being DLC is evidence that second "leak" was totally bs, not evidence the other two will be in. Everyone guessed Shang would be in the game, and after the roster leak it was clear he had to be either unlockable or DLC. They had a 50/50 shot at guessing it.

It'd be bittersweet at best. My feelings on DLC like this aside, it'd be awesome to get to play her in this game, but I was more interested to see how she'd be handled from a story standpoint now that they've introduced time travel. Her part in Mkx's story felt pretty underwhelming. She was always on the back foot after she was usurped, and never really felt like a proper threat, just a nuisance in the protagonists' way. I guess they had to hype up Kotal and D'vorah somehow, but I wonder what it would've been like if they held off her death till this game.

Idk, no doubt my bias is showing, but the writer in me is definitely disappointed that her narrative potential won't be fully realized. Still, if she ends up in the game somehow, I'll be grateful regardless.

I get you. I'm similarly really bummed Sindel isn't in when the game is about time travel and the two timelines -- she's so important to the overall storyline arc; and if Kronika wants to undo the events of MK9, especially, surely Sindel should play a role?

I wouldn't mind Mileena as DLC. She's not my first choice but I like the character and I would certainly take her over any fucking guest character.

As far as DLC goes...I just want Nightwolf and/or Pennywise. NRS snubbing Nightwolf twice now is disturbing.

Mileena and Rain have all the attention right now, and if one or both of them end up being DLC, then so be it.

Given how they've historically let freshly "killed off" characters take a break from the series, Mileena not being in the base roster was completely expected. Would be happy to see her as DLC, and I think it'd be a sensible move given her popularity.

I know they both died but Mileena was playable in MKX, whereas Baraka wasn't. It makes more sense that she skips a game in that sense.

I'm not a big Mileena fan, she's fine as a character but her fanbase is insufferable. There are so many other characters I'd rather see playable.
