Let's reminisce (some MK9) as MK11 approaches

Good times.

Remember this match being hype for me because I believe it was the first (and only?) time that Brady's Sub and Slips' Scorp played on stream/in tournament.

For me, in terms of memorability, Final Round XV may be the GOAT tournament for MK9.
May add more clips to this post later.

Also, it always blows me away whenever I see clips of MK9, the game to this day still looks so good and fluid, it's ageless to me.

MK9 was so much fun. The dash cancles gave the characters so much variation. great stages, characters, tag team, cheats, it had alot. A remake with improved netcode, region free online, buff & nerfs and input bug fixes would be neat

MK9 was really special. It was a real return to form after the lackluster 3D era, had an awesome cast, a great single player story mode, and a top notch competitive scene. It was the first game in the series that I ever wanted to play at a serious level. Because of that desire to "git gud", it helped me discover the MK competitive scene and the FGC at large. Quite frankly, I wouldn't know shit about fighting games if not for MK9.

So many good players we don't see to compete anymore.
So many players who become illuminaty and elitists
man, that was the time TYM was rich, top players were abundant, the kommunity grew faster, everyone was having a blast, those where the days.

I loved MK9 and played it too much, but it feels very primitive in comparison to MKX. Shang Tsung seems very underpowered too.
