Yo, it's not an insult when it's stating a FACT. If you feel offended by it perhaps you should ask yourself why.
I mean, if I say DOA6 is a titty game. it's a fact. You can love the game and say "yeah, it's a titty game and I love it", and I respect you because there's nothing wrong with it. Or, you can feel guilty and insecure about it and go like "nooo it's totally not a titty game it's all about the fighting!".
Same goes for Skarlet. She was a generic bikini babe and I hated her for that design. Now, she actually looks like a character I want to play. But if you liked bikini babe Skarlet: that's fine by me, as long as you're honest about it and aren't pretending she was a complex, well-designed character.
It has nothing to do with Bikini babe the default costume was terrible and we were mostly forced to play with it, but her vita costume where she is far less revealing and looked far more appealing that the default one.
Skarlet personality came from her being a true Ninja representation in everything else, she had a Ninja dash which was called Red Dash but the true name for it its, Cheetah Sprint, Kunaijutsu or ability to fire Kunais on various forms to control space in different forms, Kenjutsu with her twin fumma Kodachi swords and even Taijutsu or Ninja hand to hand fighting style without counting her blood magic which was very few but still present.
So MK9 Skarlet to me was a much better representation of what a Kunoichi should be considering i was never really into female ninjas before her appearance the other ones really never sold that well into what a Kunoichi (Female Ninja) should be, her default costume was terrible indeed but everything else like her playstyle and equipment was spot on and she was pretty fun to play at higher level, complex but fun.
So i like this Skarlet despite the fact that she got retconed, i like that she is not really revealing i never did, and was willing to pay for the vita costume if it came as DLC but her past traits from MK9 wasn't really forgotten, even on the reveal day the official MK site states that Skarlet its an Imperial Bodyguard(basically Ninjas who protect the Khanum like Mileena, Jade and Kitana, Tanya) and Blood Mage, so her arsenal just got bigger.
So i still think we will be able to select the pixie haircut and whatever else they throw in the customization options, as we know its supposed to have a lot more than just what we're seeing right now.
There are even rumors that her move list is unfinished and there are things we haven't seen yet, so i will just wait, but i can't wait to get my hands on her again.
I bet those people are the virgins more than anyone lol.
