In a tweet put out by Mr. Wiz a few minutes ago, we got a look at the early EVO registration numbers. And while it's too early to start touting off one scene as dead and another as the top, it's looking good for NRS this year.
So the rankings are as follows:
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
2. Tekken 7
3. Street Fighter V
4. Mortal Kombat 11
5. Soul Calibur VI
6. UNIST
7. Samurai Showdown
8. Dragonball FighterZ
9. BlazBlue Cross-Tag Battle
Neato, right? It looks like the Melee scene finally moved on to a game from this decade, so Smash Ultimate is probably going to be crazy packed by August. Tekken seems to be riding the hype train it's been on since the last year and a half, and Mortal Kombat 11 is picking up steam from it's Day 1 numbers. Now we just need to overtake SFV, so we can throw that in the faces of everyone that says "nobody plays NRS games" and rub those numbers in people's faces for the next 80 years.
