100% agree on Rain... Despite the modifier thing, I was still hoping. Do you know anything about Mileena and Shinnok who are mentioned by some alongside Shang? Is there any evidence to support these? Shinnok was a modifier as well, even though he's not a direct replacement for Rain THAT would make me a bit salty...

Here's my thoughts on leaks and whether or not it's okay to talk about them:

The fact of the matter is that the images are out there, and there's no way to take them down and to stop people from posting them. I'm sure even YouTubers are making and posting videos right now... as a community are we just not suppose to talk about that?

It's like someone coming into a room and yelling "GUYS DID YOU KNOW *Whatever secret information* IS IN THE GAME!?" and then they kicked out and someone comes up on stage and says "Okay, listen guys, you didn't hear that. You don't want to ruin the surprise anyway, right?"

Like sorry, but we heard it and know now. Maybe not talking about it is the respectful thing to do, but it's still not going to stop us from knowing what's in the game because we do now. And as mega fans of the franchise are we just not suppose to talk about it? Are we not suppose to talk about our favorite character returning, or maybe the fact our favorite characters DIDN'T return? All just so we can pretend to be excited when the officially announce everything?

It's a super shitty situation, but I really don't think there is anything wrong with talking about what's happening. Now being the one to actually LEAK the images for the first time, that's different... we are talking about playtesters, developers, or just friends of devs who are being trusted but they leak stuff anyway. Yeah, in that case, you are kinda an asshole.

Basically, talking about and sharing what happened = not really a big deal.

Actually being the one to leak stuff = you are an asshole.

Being the developer and getting your stuff leaked = sorry, you probably don't deserve this.


Only reason why I'm bringing this up is because it seems certain communities are silencing discussion. Ultimately it's their choice and I know they are just trying to do what they feel is right, and I respect that. But I don't think it's fixing anything, to be honest.

MKA was a whole other company tho and it was supposed to be their “last game”

Ever since they became NRS, Boon stayed he doesn’t believe in having characters in a previous game DLC in the very next. So far he’s held up to those words. Don’t see why it would stop now

The second one is interesting because it means if there's alternate fatalities (animalities having been rumored) they're one per character.

I like the majority of the roster but im kinda upset they decided the father child combo to be Jax and jaqui, instead of kenshi and takeda.
Jax disappeared half way through mkx and jaqui was overshadowed by all the new characters.
Whereas takeda and kenshi played a major part and super tied with scorpions arc of his character and their both gone.

Honestly, I don't know anything about the user who leaked the stuff. I don't know if he leaked anything in the past or how credible he is overall. Maybe he got the leaked images before they came out somehow and decided to piggyback off of it and just decided to guess who the secret characters are. I really don't know.

All I know is that he posted it and so far it seems legit. The only way we can know for sure what's in the game is if more leaked images come out confirming it, or if NetherRealm officially announces it. I personally believe it, but I'll admit that there are scenarios where it could be fake.

I will say this: Something that backs up Shinnok being playable is the fact that NRS said that they didn't want NPC characters in their story modes again, right?

Shinnok is a character that was playable in the previous game and has a full model in story mode. Regardless of whether or not you like him, he would be in a very similar boat as Kabal and the other revenants in MKX if he was an NPC.

EDIT: And if it turns out Shinnok really is playable, then that just gives more credibility to the leak claiming that Mileena is.

"So far" being 1 game? That's not very much precedent.

He said IIRC that there wouldn't be NPC fights like Rain, Baraka, Sindel and pre-DLC Tanya. You need extra characters around to tell stories and show glimpses of the MK universe.
