Know what it is ganon, they tried to hype Labron up to be "Cleveland's Derek Jeter" but not the case, you see Jeter's contract is up after this year yet do you think he's going anywhere? lol I know the Cavaliars and Yanks are apples and peanuts (in this case) but the fans had to know or should have realized he wasn't loyal to cleveland once he said "he would explore free agency" I mean...that's kind of a big hint right there lol...

If a player is going to stay, they will say it flat out. Period....that goes for any sport.

That's because LeBron promised he wasnt going anywhere untill he brought a Championship to Cleveland.

Yeah, I knew he was going to leave the cavaliers, nothing we can really do bout it lol, but fans did go overboard with burning the jerseys. It reminds of the time when fans were burning Brett Favre's jerseys. Cleveland hyped up Lebron James way too much. I still like Lebron James as a basketball player though but I have lost respect for him. He did promise Cleveland a championship. If he really wanted a championship he should have signed with Boston Celtics or Los Angeles Lakers.

This season im a be cheering on the Boston Celtics, and The Cavaliers. Miami Heat ain't getting through Boston Celtics.

I lost respect for him too man, but Lebron James was just impatient and wanted a "super team" of players so his chances of winning would be better. I think it would had made better sense for Lebron James to get Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade on the cavaliers.

I cant wait till the NBA season starts. The Heat cant stop the 3-peat.
or the 3 on the Boston Celtics.

Oh yeah, well I mean personally making that kind of promise when you don't know is just dumb lol. A lot of players do it in various sports and shouldn't do so...then leave lol.

I'm saying the fans had to know the second Lebron said he had interest in free agency...the burning the jersey thing is over the top, but definitely not the first time I've seen such crazy behavior..

Back in the late 90's, Yanks at Boston, the Boston Fans were literally throwing beer bottles(before they were plastic) and hotdogs at the Yankee outfielders....it caused a big stink, then there was the case of when Red Sox did actually beat the Yankees after like a million times of losing to them, the fans burned Ruth Jersey's and tried to implement their own curse when new Yankee Stadium was built few years back, by a nutty Boston fan trying to hide a David Ortiz Jersey in the cement of the new building...they found it and dug it out lol. But, yeah that's some other examples of nutty fans...

Then there's he bret farv thing too...pretty much Lebron will get booed to hell, like all players who swear loyalty at some point then decide, ehh I think I'll leave lol from baseball to b-ball and all in between.

It's more like the big four the way Rondo has been playing. I look at the Eastern Conference like this, Miami will win a shit load of games, they will probably be the best team in the East. Boston will be a 4th or 5th seed looking old and slow. All the talk will start about Miami being favs, but once the playoffs start Miami will sweep the 8th seed and then down the line in the semi-finals or ECF they will lose. I just know it, defense>offense.

This situation is a bit different then that. The Cavs have allways been garbage, so when LeBron went to Cle all of a sudden the team over-hyped the living shit out of him. Lebron is good, but the guy isnt a good leader, he thinks blowing powder, doing these fancy dunks, dancing, taunting opps, and winning reg season mvp awards is what matters. The Cle fans were talking alot of shit in these past few season cause they had the best records in the reg season wich dont mean shit come playoff time. Cle is just very mad he left, shit Dan Gilbert was willing to swallow Lebrons dick before he made the decision, but after Lebron played them he got enraged. What Clev fans should of been were Cleveland Cavaliers fans 1st, Lebron James fans 2nd, because when Lebron was in Cle it wasnt about the team it was about him.

Oh yeah granted, the situation is different but the principle is the same in terms of a player who was THOUGHT to have stayed with a team he supposedly loved, then do the exact opposite and more or less saying a big "F-You, I'm doing what I want" to the fans who love him lol.

I understand situations where if say a player WANTS to come back to a team and the team doesn't offer that player a chance or contract, then of course the player should do what's best and leave....

In this case, obviously Cleveland wanted him back and if he was really loyal, he would have stayed. But he didn't...he chose the bigger money, bigger chances of a championship but definitely not a bigger town...Miami isn't exactly the best town to play for with sports...

It may not be the worst but certainly not the best, no where near the atmosphere of say LA, NY, Chicago etc, etc.

FTR, I still don't think this automatically makes the Heat the best team, they still have to take out the Lakers and even though I hate Boston teams, the Celtics are no joke either.

The cavs aren't garbage they ok, but just not good as Lakers, Celtics, etc. They good as probally like Knicks, or Houston Rockets. I would like to see them win a championship tho.

Well, what I always say is never make a promise you can't keep. I guess Lebron James just couldn't follow in the foot steps of the likes of Michael Jordan. The way he did on TV was messed up though. 1 hour on "the decison".

Well, right now Miami have Dwayne Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh. I don't know much bout Chris Bosh or how good he is.

I thought he would chose New York or New Jersey to play with it would had been better. Imo I think he would have had the best chances on Boston Celtics. New York even made a spoof of his decision video lol.

Lebron James is still my favorite basketball player no what team he on. Cleveland fans were on the Lebron James bandwagon. Cavaliers fan 1st. They liked Lebron James not cavaliers which is sad lol.

Yeah, I respect the guys skill for sure but I think in the end like you said I was shocked he didn't sign with NY, Chicago or NJ. Personally I think he just didn't want to deal with the pressure the media(from NYC especially) pretty much here if you don't do your job well or perform below average or average and you're a big player in any sport you will get ripped for it lol. The media is here cutthroat I admit

Boston is already good without Lebron, but I still don't think Miami will be quite as good as the Lakers. I think they have more good players then Lakers have now but the Lakers are like the Yankees of B-ball, they know how to win, how to win in the clutch and are the defending champs.

No No The Yankees are the Lakers of baseball lol, we're more consistent and have the highest winning % all of sports. Lakers still have the better players then Miami,

Bryant > Wade
Gasol > Bosh
Artest < LeBron
Bynum > Illgauskas
Blake > Haslem

Our Bench is way better even if Blake doesnt start.

But I hope Boston makes it to the Finals, so we could beat them again and get our 17th Championship. Phil's 12th, Kobe's 6th, Pau's 3rd, Adam's 3rd lol, Ron's 2nd. If Miami happens to make it can you believe how sweet that championship will be? Especially for Mamba? Mamba will be on a mission, and if he beats a team that consits of Wade,Lebron, and Bosh = :superman:

lol, no, no Yankees>>everyone else in sports dude ;) even the Lakers...Yank's have more HOF's, more league championships, more championships and more fans then the Lakers do nationwide and worldwide ;) and dude what do you mean about consistent? lol 5 championships in 15 years is phenomonal lol..and Yanks play far more games then Lakers do, lol so I have to disagree with you on consistency. Yankees are very consistent overall.

And Yankees can't win with just one guy :p

Anywho, lebron made his choice and we'll see what happens. He may end the Lakers streak, may not. The guys who followed him though are also some of the best guys in the league.

No, No, Now you're just being silly MKF lol. Lakers have only been around for 62 years, the Yankees have been around 109 years. So obviously their going to have more wins under their belt, but that doesnt mean their better then the Lakers winning % wich is .618, the Yanks are at .564. LA wins more then the Yanks, you cant say just because the mlb season has 162 plus games that the Yanks are better, not true. As far as whos most popular of course its the Lakers, basketball is more known across the world, cmon man u know that. Plus what is this about Yanks cant win with one guy? thats hitting a low blow mkf lol Lakers>Yanks period lol.

MKF30

lol, I'm not being silly man lol Come on buddy, I know you love the Lakers and I love the Yanks but facts speak for themselves :p...I'm being realistic, Lakers being 62 and Yankees being older doesn't mean much hear given as how Lakers could have won far more in that time...look at the Mets, been around since 1962 yet have oh yeah 2 championships...lol so that's irrelevant. Over 40 years and 2 Championships? Or better yet, Red Sox are just as old virtually as the Yankees and have 7 titles...

The Lakers are a good team but let's face it, B-ball compared to Baseball is a one, two man sport where Baseball consists of a whole team having to be good, not just one or two guys owning the whole game(Jordan, Kobe, Lebron) shall I go on? lol Baseball your entire team needs to perform, not just one guy dude who can control a game himself literally.

Winning %, dude the Yankees especially under Steinbrenner past 30+ years have among the highest winning %....not joking in sports, even in the 80's when they didn't win anything, they still lead the majors in regular season winning %...and the 90's they owned everyone period, and past few years. Since 96-2010, only one year did they not make the playoffs..

Yankees>>>Lakers/everyone else in sports, this is fact dude...admit it. They have the most success out of any team in professional sports...how many Championships lakers have? 16, 17? That's not even close. Yank's have 27 near 30 man come on lol...

As you wish.

Anyway, I honestly do feel for cleveland losing him because now they have virtually nothing to draw people. I'm sure they'll still draw fans in general though I'd guess. You know they will when Miami is in town lol.

Tim Static

Adminerator
They'll draw fans for a while. But when the losses pile up.....................

But remember also 2 things: 1) all the people who have already bought or put money down on season tickets for next season. What will they do? and 2) all the businesses that were started because of all the attention LeBron brought to this area: Sports bars, restaurants, etc. They will all die away unless they put a winning product on the court.

lol @ cleveland tho.

MKF30

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
If all those bars, restaurants etc close down because of no Lebron that's pretty bad. I'm sure they drew crowds with him there, but they have to still make decent business I'd guess right? I mean, people still have to eat, drink etc :)

But if they do close that would be a shame and lose of jobs on a more serious note.

I take it you don't like the Cavs that much or did you like them and now not so much?

You don't like any Cleveland sports though? Cavs ok...without Lebron we all know the deal, Indians are not bad(ok before they lost Thome, CC etc,) lol, Browns are...wait, do they ever win? They have some history right? And I can't even remember the hockey team at the moment :(

Hey btw, really quick was that you talking in the road to evo in Queens few weeks back? I was catching up on some vids again and heard some guy talking about classic, umk and MKE lol. I was like, is that Tim?

I cant stand Cleveland sports teams, never had. I root for Cincinnati teams (Bengals and the Reds, who are doing pretty good this year) and of course, Columbus teams (Blue Jackets and the Crew), not to mention I'm hardcore Ohio State :D

But, they wouldnt be closing because LeBron isnt there, but because the team turns into a bottom dweller, always coming in last or near last place, getting lottery pics year after year, etc. That might happen tho because he left. Keep in mind, LeBron is from Akron, Ohio which is about 30-45m's from Cleveland, so he is a hometown dude.

And no, i wasnt there. Dark Rob and Sweet Johnny Cage were doing commentary. :)

lol MKF, man, I just gave you the facts. LA .615 Yanks 564 enough said man! LA in the 62 years has only missed the playoffs 5 times, over 30 WCFc over 30 Finals apperances. You'll see the Lakers in the finals every 2 years and them winning a championship every 4 years. Again Yanks being a longer living Franchise doesnt mean anything.

Look man Baseball is very dif from basketball, but ive seen left fielders who dont even touch a ball the entire time their on the field. You're telling me a dominant pitcher doesnt control a game like Kobe would do? cmon man.

So again you say Yanks> any other team in sports. Have you ever heard of a Futbol club called Real Madrid? They've won 31 championships in their league since 1902. I bet you're going to find away to tell me their winning % is not as good as the Yankees.
