Weird stuff happens when Kitana gets hit during X-ray... if she gets hit by a smoke bomb it will turn her invisible afterward

Actually this is something that happens to X-Ray, and I lost a match once because of this.
So lemme tell you it was a Cyrax vs Scorpion, I was with Cyrax. I had plenty of health, Scorpi not really, he was dead allready and I was like, ohh snap, he has X-ray close bombardment, ftw! So thought I that as he is coming in with the X-ray I won't block, let him try that, and he did it, and the bomb was boom, and he got the damage and he...he was alive? Yes, he was, and killed me badly, but stayed alive? So wtf NRS? X-Ray makes you immortal?

Sounds like the bomb didn't do enough damage to kill him, or you hit him during the active frames of the x-ray. X-rays are invinsible once they've actually started.

Kitana's X-ray seems kind of effed. It seems to be the case that if she gets hit before the fans land, the X-ray won't happen and the game doesn't know what to do. The match locks up for a bit while the fans spin on your face.

No, they are not. They should be, but they aren't. Im sure some of you have beaten X Rays, quite randomly with a low poke or special, and no, im not talking about when the guy that throws the X Ray only has a pixel of health.

Every now and again, you can beat X Rays with weird things. Other times, the X Ray supposedly whiffs, and a split second later, you've been ported in front, getting bones broke. This has happened a lot to me with LK, KL or Skarlet.

Can you give a specific example so I know what you mean?

But what I mean is that X-rays are invinsible on their active frames. I think the frames where an X-ray travels across the screen are still considered startup frames.

Anyway, here's another example that I found a while back:

Last night I was CSZ vs NS. We were opposite sides of the screen. At the same time, I threw iceball, he threw XRay....my ice ball won. I've also slid under human SZ's XRay before.

Then there have been occasions where I jump over Skarlet and DerpLao as they activate their XRay. However if even a tiny bit of their hitbox clips me, I get warped back in front of them and eat the whole kombo. Yet if I jump over Sonya and she clips me but is facing away from me, I wont eat the whole thing.

And you're telling me you've never poked out an X Ray before by pure accident?

There's no need to be defensive man.

Sub zero doesn't have armor until the X-ray is moving forward. For the rest of them, if you can show a video or more in depth explanation I'll understand what you're saying.

I am pretty sure, that it damaged Scorpion, the health bar was at 5% or so and the bomb does 8% so, he should be dead. The other thing is that those bombs (I'm sure about Cyraxes) will stop the X-ray, of course, it is not likely to happen, but 3-4 times I did that and it worked. The strange part is that he should have been died, but he did not. Those X-rays even helped me out a few times, that I had no health nearly and I used the :x and I got hit, but because of the armor on it I did it, still I was alive, but I should have been died. True story
