*UPDATED WITH STREAM SCHEDULE* EVO 2018 Schedule and Pools

*UPDATE* In an attempt to make me look dumb, the stream schedule went out shortly after I wrote this. You can find the times at this tweet. Looks like the NRS stuff will be on the EVO5 Twitch instead of the Netherrealm one.

Hey, there's a thing happening this week. A big fighting game thing. It's EVO 2018. Not only is Sonic being forced to compete at an event without his fox head, we'll see the best competitors around the world playing to win the title of champion for that year. While the NRS scene is definitely looking a bit smaller this year, that doesn't mean that we don't have a ton of people turning up. And you can see the dealio with that down below!

So most of this won't matter much to those of you not going. The list from EVO's website is a little sparse, but I'm sure it will be updated with the proper times once they work out what will run for how long. One thing we know for certain is that Injustice Top 8 is definitely going down sometime Saturday and we know what order the Sunday games will run in. We'll keep you posted with stream times and whatnot later this week.

What is set in stone (mostly) is the brackets. After some input from the community on the proper seeding for everyone, it seems like the final brackets are locked down over on Smash.GG. If you spot any seeding decisions that seem weird (I know people were confused on Sonic's placement) some decisions were made based on who was competing in multiple games to prevent overlap and delays. Regardless, should be a lot of good matches, you can catch at least 3-4 big names in every pool, and you can never count out the newcomers. Things get going officially on Friday 8AM PST, we'll be seeing you guys on Twitch whenever they decide to let us know when they are starting up the stream.

They waited for you to post this first to make you look dumb, that's the only reason they held it back. There's a lesson to be learnt for you somewhere here. I don't know what it is, but it's there.

I'm interested to see what characters come out. I'm expecting a lot more character specialists at this point, and especially after the last few majors have gone down with some really unexpected character picks that worked out really well.

If not I'll be disappointed tbh.

i can't remember the last evo that I have had so little interest in. I mean I'll watch the Injustice.. but SFV is boring as hell, DBZ is fun to play but also unwatchable as a spectator. I've never liked tekken, smash.. just fuck off... man.. Apart from Injustice and BlueBlaz there is basically nothing for me.

Im gonna practice one last time before i head out tomorrow, so today will be hella busy for me, but i need to remember to just have fun!

I remember the first time I came on this site @Mikemetroid told me, "Go to a local and get to know people." Welp. Here I am doing the BIGGEST one of the year lol. Lets DO THIS!

Just remember that the tournament is only half the experience. The other half is meeting people and getting maaaad casuals in. Enjoy yourself!

Apparently nrs is going to host evo5... so you can watch with a smaller chat stream @netherrealm twitch...

Also stream.me is also hosting @https://www.stream.me/netherrealm if you want a even smaller group to chat with.

In my experience smaller re-hosts of evo are less toxic and more fun to chat in

Yeah, I think Stream.me will be the place to watch. Gonna do so anyway, think it will be good for Mr. Aquaman if NRS sees a lot of support over there

I'm not a guy to talk about brackets and whatnot but I'm pumped for Evo. Hoping Injustice 2 has a good showing.

Bold Predictions: (Didn't look at pools at all.) Bio vs Honeybee GF, Tweedy and Semiij in semis, Forever King, Tekken Master, Grr and Rewind in top 8, Sonicfox knocked out before top 8
