Let Uncle JBeezY tell ya a true story.
Back in the day when i first started doing drag, i was going through a name crisis, trying to find my identity as a Queen. Before all the Queens you see on Drag Race, most of the Socal Queens were always at the same spot, so we all knew each other. One night at a club, I saw Morgan McMichaels dancing, swinging her long curly Black wig, and i approached her. I will NEVER forget this moment because it changed my life.
I asked her about my Drag to figure out a name for myself. I wanted to name myself Mz. Hood cuz im a hood bitch hahah. Needless to say....she wasn't feeling it. So she explained to me...
A name has to be significant, something important to you that means something. My first name 'Morgan' is a unisex name and also means Queen Of The Fairies. Since she's Irish, she added McMichaels.
When she explained that to me she asked, "What's important in your life that's significant to you?"
I answered, "My mom."
She passed away...and it's been 8 years now to this day. As the years go by its easier to cope, but it's never easy losing your mother. So i decided to dedicate my entire drag persona in celebration of her name because I know every time I perform, she is always with me in spirit. Also its very rare IF EVER that a woman names their daughter the same as a Jr or II. I flipped the script and became
