Injustice 2's Biggest Downfalls, which could be easily fixed

Customization should be more then 100 slots and also there should be a shader where you can chose where you want to put the colors. I would like the option to remove cape or even have a batman beyond style cape and have the God like eyes on any Batman I customize. Just more freedom in general.

You can't always rely on people you know being available to play at the same time, particularly due to work and other commitments.

That's the whole point of player match rooms.

But I don't want to go through the trial and error nonsense of finding people who want to play competitively in those rooms.
Can't you just make a room called something like "GEAR OFF ONLY" or something?

Also, currently, you could join a KOTH in the current player match rooms, only to be dethroned by some twat with unblockable superman lasers. This would not be the case if there was a committed competitive player match mode
that would suck... I thought in any case both players need to agree?

You could. But I'm sure that would only attract more people who insist on using gear and abilities.

No, it's the other way around. By default, gear is on. Both players have to agree to opt in to competitive mode

remember whether you liked the look of Scarecrow's fortified scary pants of terror or his frightening pants of horror, realise you can't remember and go back and start the process again before realising you don't actually give a shit anymore.

Anyway yeah, I pretty much agree with everything in the OP. There are some wonky input things going on here and there that can be annoying to try and work around.

Honestly just implementing 2 out of 3 in Ranked, like every other fighting game has, would resolve the competitive mode in player matches issue.

I agree the gear system UI is a hot ass mess.

Inputs are a problem particularly the d,b,f inputs which are just bizarre and tend to turn into other things you don't want. Or things like Ivy's b2,d2. It should just be b2,2.

This is an off-the-cuff one, but why can't we choose Assists for Versus mode, like custom Test Your Luck in MK? The Assist mechanic is so fun and it's wasted on single-player multiverse. If I'm playing a friend it would be awesome to have a mode where we can each pick an Assist character and sort of play Mahvel-flavored Injustice. (Personally I miss tag mode desperately, but if we're not getting tag mode at least give us this.)

I think it's funny how their explanation to some of them being unblockable was "how the hell do you block a car?" yet, we are playing a game where people can block bullets and eye lasers... Like being realistic was actually a thing in a superhero fighting game.
let's not forget that people are being thrown to the fucking sun and back, survive it, and keep fighting like nothing. yet they can't stand a boulder to the chest....logic lol

I've never gotten a clash trying to PB, Like I said block an attack first then input F+MB, the blockstun on the attack won't allow you to clash or get hit by second attack.
I think the main issue is when the attack doesn't have a long blockstun between hits (trait bats/trident rush) and so you get hit while trying to press f+MB in the gaps.

Oh my, I'm glad everyone else has the same input issues, I thought it was me.

I hate getting command grabs, up gunshots, up whips and up shield tosses.
Getting D1~up shield instead of D12~MB shield toss is the worst thing ever, it happens a lot and it has made me lost a lot of matches.

Thank god I don't play Ivy, she is easily the most affected character by the input issue.
Seriously. I've been trying to play her a lot. Every time I do 213-2-2-2- cmnd grab I get 21 in place of command grab

I agree with the Regenerate Gear idea

I think they should make it 100 slots for Common, Rare and Epic

My biggest gripe with the game is how every match ends the same.

With the oppent taking a knee. We were spoiled with MKXL. Obviously we can't have Fatalities or Brutalities but why not Heroic Stage Finishers or Guild Beatdowns (Never kill) it would add something.

Allow us to keep comboing even after they're health is gone like in MKX! that would help to style on opponents.

Very much this, especially with slower normals in strings. Like if you press 22xxdb2 too fast with scarecrow, even with negative edge off, you get 2xxdb2 instead.
This isn't a problem though. It is supposed to work like that. If you want to cancel the first 2 you go fast. If you want to cancel after the second 2 you slow it down. You don't need to blast your inputs at full speed all the time. It gives you options.

I haven't played Injustice 2 too much but since my experience:

- add competitive mode player matches or add FT3 and FT5 option in ranked. I never play ranked because is one and done. Stupid. You can't adapt or learn something with that.

- I'm not the best player but there's something wrong in the input system. Weird things happen.

- I love that Injustice 2 isn't region locked but I think that add some options to play with someone not too far from you can be useful if there's connection issues.

- why push block are F + MB button?

- Abilities are very rare. The drop rate for them need to be fixed. It's total insanity for me to play for hours and only have 4 of them unlocked by boxes. These are special moves! Part of the gameplay.
They need to fix them so we can lab and train with and against the new moves. Since now, it's a wasted potential.

- Again, abilities are the variation system of Injustice. What's the point if we can't use them in competitive mode?
Add new modes so we can play without boosted stats but with abilities on!
This is a personal thing, but I think that someone agreed with me.

- Give an "unlock all" feature in the brother eye so we can unlock more boxes together.

- The inventory management system need to be fixed. Since now, it's very confused.

After reading just the first thing about competitive mode so far, I agree Ranked doesn't suffice. But to make a separate player mode for competitive as well would possibly spread the player base too thin and make it difficult to find matches.

However, I think Ranked should be best of 3 or FT3. If I'm not mistaken that's how KI does it (never played it) and it seems like a great concept.

Like with Injustice 1, I still think Interactables are the worst thing about Injustice 2. So many of them are imbalanced, randomly placed, irrationally designed, cause some MUs to be dumber than they should, etc.
Especially when certain stages still cater to a character type i.e. power characters.

This opinion may be unpopular but I'm really not a huge fan of the online in this game. The input delay is too intense and changes the game way too much.

I feel like using rollback netcode is almost a total waste if they're not going to give us control over the input lag. Other games did this without any issues. They give us the option to add input lag in training but no option to reduce it in exchange for rollback for the online mode.

Not many people have complaints about the online. I get it, it's better than it used to be. I just don't see why adding an option to reduce the input lag frames online in exchange for rollback would be a negative change. Just keep an automatic setting as default and let the people willing to mess with options go in and change it if they want to.

I made this thread a while back during the MKX enhanced beta. Some people were upset with the visual rollback and this option could have made everyone happy.

People don't complain probably because of what it's being compared too. Compared to previous games it is a massive improvement.

Yeah it is better but it still makes blocking insanely hard for no reason. There's no reason the game should add as much delay as it does for someone who lives 20 minutes from me.

Split second blocking is near impossible and it creates a load of fucked up blocking situations that aren't anywhere near as hard to block offline. Fucking Darkseids jk into stomp/land mb b3 , batmans b11 xx bats b11 and supergirls teleport are perfect examples. If they gave us an option to reduce the delay like in other games it should make everyone happy.

It's just frustrating that they added a rollback netcode and I see no rollback ever but feel constant input delay.

The online is a lot better then it was, but yeah it still isn't optimal. I shouldn't be glad whenever I manage to block an aquaman B2 online lol

Also the forward plus MB to pushblock is really annoying. I get the concept of adding risk to pushblocking, it's in other games. The problem here imo is the fact that chip damage is higher than most other games and push blocking multi hitting moves like aquaman trident rush can lead to just eating the trident rush. Not only that but the input crosses over with clash so now it creates accidental clash situations.
