A consumer aproval idea was aproved by NRS, what is this? *Surprised as hell*
Fucking love it. 10/10 would purchase again.
This the same consumer approval that allowed Sindel, Fujin, Baraka, and Rain to be in MKX right?

I've never been one to gripe about guest choices, but TWO (at the least) Mortal Kombat characters? Come on. Sub-Zero's inclusion is fine because Scorpion was in the first. It only makes sense.

But I feel that Raiden is a legit waste of a slot when the whole fucking DC roster is out there. I definitely don't care for his inclusion at all. Waste, waste, waste.
I get what you're saying, but at the same time, if you got the character(s) you wanted, then don't worry about who else is in.

Raiden is a pretty lame guest but I'm not gonna use him and I literally got every character I wanted so idc. Raiden is gonna pull money into the game anyways so it isn't a total waste on that part.

But yea I see what you mean

Nope, where did you assume MKX was made on consumer aproval idea?
We didn't got fujin, Skarlet, Frost, Sareena and many things that were requested.

I2 is everything we wanted on IGAU so far, the only two things i'm seeing missing right now aside from the returning characters are Spawn and NEO from the Matrix.

Dont get the complaints lol yes DC heroes would be alot more awesome then raiden IF that even ends up being raiden but the hard work and time it took to create these NINE dlc characters Be happy with this already awesome cast.

If MKX didn't teach us anything else, it taught us that silhouettes mean absolutely nothing. We've been here before guys. All of you are wrong.
Ok, so what would you like to bet that Raiden and Manta are DLC? It's idiotic to think otherwise.

Silhouettes on the DLC teasers ASBOLUTELY mean something. The silhouettes on the early select screens are the only ones that didn't mean shit.

I'm pretty excited about these first three. They look great.

As for the others, not very excited to see Raiden. I can accept one but more than that is too many. I had the most hype for Spawn. If these are all actual silhouettes I'm hoping he's there and they just didn't add the obvious cape.

Also, the big silhouette next to Raiden, any chance that's Beast Boy trolling us w/ a gorilla shape? Probably a long shot but I think he'd be awesome.

People wanted Tri-Brog, they got it
People wanted Tremor, they got it.
People wanted Alien, they got it.
People wanted Predator, they got it.
People even wanted Bo Rai Cho, they got it.

So yes, we got a couple of characters that not many people either expected or wanted, but the DLC characters we did get were mostly based on a consumer approval idea.

First post in a LONG time....

One big thing people are forgetting here is that adding a 'Guest' character isn't nearly as simple as some of you apparently think it is.
NRS/WB Games first have to seek permission from the property owner to use that character which can be easily shut down even before a negotiation begins due to the owner not wanting to affiliate their properties with each other.
Second, a firm contractual agreement (typically involving $$$) has to be made. If NRS/WB Games aren't interested in what the other owner demands, they can back away. This has happened before in fact. Wayyy back in the MK9 days, Boon commented that they sought to use a Gears of War character as exclusive content for the Xbox version of the game. However, Epic Games demanded a ridiculous percentage of sales and Boon backed out of the offer.

Now, I know a lot of folks claim that Todd McFarland has 'granted' NRS permission to use Spawn in one of their games based on an interview with Event Hubs in February 2015. Well you should know that Boon denied ever making such an agreement: https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/apr/17/boon-doesnt-recall-discussion-mcfarlane-where-spawn-was-offered-nrs-variations-were-inspired-street-fighter-alpha-3/

For all we know, it could be that someone is talking out of their ass, or maybe the deal was particularly crummy and NRS would rather deny it exists.

So as much as some of you guys want Hellboy, TMNT, Power Ranges (wtf?), know that more factors than just fan demand play a big part of this. Even different divisions of WB may decline to allow an affiliate company to use their properties if they feel the IP's don't mix. And just because you have permission to use something doesn't mean that the stipulations behind the agreement may be beneficial to you.

That all being said, I can't help but lol at many people who have been so hype for this games based on launch content suddenly jumping on a hate train over DLC because their '5th Back-up Main' isn't going to be in the game. Please.....

This, but I also wanna add on to it. About MKX' guest characters in comparison to Injustice 2, there is a good reason why we got the horror guest characters, that's because that MK is not just about the characters and the story, but also about the gore and violence, and which other characters can fit into an MK game that is about violence and gore then horror movie characters a that are all about killing people? Of course you can take specific characters like Akuma, Joker, Sabrewulf, Devil (Tekken) etc; but then you will have to get the license to use these characters, and for that you have to get the approval from the original companies holding the rights to these characters, and that's very hard to do.

As for MK characters being in Injustice, that's a different story, since it's way easier to take just one or two MK characters into a non-MK game and then tone down their violence then make an MK game and get other characters from other franchises and put their level of gore and blood at the same level of the MK franchise. And since MK is the primary franchise from NRS, it only makes sense for them to put a couple of MK characters in Injustice 2, also considering of course the popularity of them. It has nothing to do with NRS or WB being lazy or anything like that.
