Go to 3:05 to see what Blue Beetles Crawling Blast is like.

It seems like a Reptile force ball, but it doesn't launch and it has incredibly slow start up, on block it has massive advantage, even a throw will whiff if done right away. The MB version is so slow that you could walk up behind it, while the regular one allows some dash ups with cover.

It seems like a move that could be worked on and added to his tool set, as it might help him free up space and move on the ground better.

Do you guys think that he needs this to become part of his normal move set?
Personally I think it would be beneficial to have the MB version only, and have it cost a bar to do so.. Having this be a free move on top of his normal projectiles might be a bit much, but he could benefit from a slow moving option.

Others include, Air Blade Dive, Stealth and MB Invisibility etc.

I don't think he needs it all that much tbh. He feels really solid at controlling space and keeping people out as it is. Adding a reptile forceball on top of his really good zoning seems like a bit much.

Possibly only a MB version? Nothing free.

I'd rather them just tweak his base moveset. Don't think he really needs that.

He needs better damage, better frame data on his normals and he should be a decent mid tierish character.

I feel like his damage is fine, what's wrong with his normal exactly?

-most of his strings are unsafe or can be interrupted like 111
-his f2 is too slow to effectively whiff punish most of the time. Compared to supermans f2 and supergirls (f2? not sure) whiff punisher, it's way too slow and unsafe on block. Why?
-his damage is pretty bad outside of bound cancel combos and a character relying on that is awful.
-Seems like his df1 and/or db1 has too much scaling or something, idk. You do no damage after you do those moves. Maybe THEY need a damage buff or something.
-I think they should shave 1 f off of his d1 maybe and make it more advantageous on hit. If you're not on point you can get poked back pretty easily on hit since most of his stuff is a high.

I'd still like to see how he plays once people are making use of his full mobility and toolset -- that will keep people from making a rash judgement that could ultimately make him more powerful than they care to handle.

Not that Paulo would do that, as he's balancing the game on his own; but I still feel like there's more to this character than being seen right now.

Either way he's likely still not in his final state, but I think his full toolset, options for countering gap-abusers, and all of his mobility needs to be fully explored before before final conclusions are drawn.

Does it replace a base projectile or he keeps all base moves? I think if this replaces a base move like many other gear moves, it would be fine as he won't be able to control space as much if he doesn't get the regular projectile to combine with the slow one.

yeah i agree but he really does have major flaws that I think will hinder him regardless of lab time.

I could be wrong though of course.

It's possible, but if his keep away and/or mobility game ends up bring ridiculous, it could become too much if he's also just as good as everyone else up close.

Not saying this is certainly the case, but I think we should have learned by now that it's better safe than sorry. Better test thoroughly and explore all the options before jumping to week 1 conslusions about buffs.

Every game people say "We jumped to conclusions too fast about buffs and nerfs" and then they do it again, then blame NRS. Regardless, none of these are finished characters yet so it's probably a moot point.

His moveset reminds a lot of Shazam.. short moves with an exception of long range whiff punisher (bit slower) launcher that can't be canceled on block to be safe, and a great sweep. When he goes to his blade stance feels vunerable because he becomes the only character in beta without a projectile or a puddle to control space. In my hands he feels like he lacks something..

His flying is good but it isn't enough especially in blade mode and gets predictable too easy.Even if you trick your opponent with an evasive fly your options are limited. All his specials are punishable except his projectile! His air blast is has so many recovery frames.

Lastly don't forget guys this build is old and it is gonna change A LOT. Let's hope for more. ALSO MAKE TIME 99 #TREND ;D

why was that guy in chat going on about pay to win? didn't boon recently confirm on the watchtower stream that there is no way to buy the gear? has there been something new said since?

The way Boon worded it sounded kinda ambiguous.

I don't think you will be able to buy individual pieces of gear.

But I could see loot boxes, and the ability to buy currency with real money and use that currency to buy a shit ton of loot boxes.

Technically not P2W, but still the amount of scummy you have come to expect with WB game division.
