I wouldn't be surprised if NRS didn't have a blacklist of TYM cucks they're deliberately withholding codes from for always being pathetic in every thread they ever see them post in lul. Maybe if some of y'all start your own video game company you can hand out beta codes to whoever tf you want?

Im glad for the beta, its good that they are doing it, i dont mind not getting a code i would like one for sure, i just dont like favoritism.

Yeah there are a ton of examples.

Combo Breaker is only 10 days after release btw, not 11. My bad.

This beta code wave thing was cool when it was just an mkx update. You could still play mkx, people weren't really gaining a huge advantage. This is absolutely ridiculous though. There's gonna be some fraudulent placings at Combo Breaker lol. People get top 8 and then are never seen out of pools again.
absolutely no one is gonna place because they are getting a beta code bruh. They will probably AT MOST have it 2 weeks before everyone else who signed up, and even then two more weeks with a beta ain't shit lol. Especially when there's gonna be balance changes and stuff before release.

This won't affect tournament placings I can assure you. It's just annoying. Almost no one on TYM seems to have gotten one, none of my friends who signed up got one except like.. two? Just seems they gave too little out in the first wave but made sure the tops got it just because. Meh. I can wait but it's still stupid.

BTW if you guys wanna talk about TRUE ADVANTAGE, we had an injustice 1 tournament like 3 days after release, right? We were practicing nonstop, me alucard and a few others in our scene, went to indiana to play and Perfect Legend showed up.

He tested the game a bit, and the gap was absolutely massive. Things we didn't even think of like counterpicking with stages or interactable usage, he was using on us. That's actual advantage. 2 week beta testing thats public and you can see for yourself? Not an advantage. Especially since most of us will likely be able to play it sooner or later. There's no training mode, balance changes are going to change a lot of the game.

I can understand feeling like there's a huge advantage for having the beta a few weeks early but there really isn't. The game is very similar to injustice 1 and if you wan't to prepare yourself that would probably be a good way to start if you don't have a beta code. Batman and Superman have almost their EXACT same playstyles. You're not learning that much from the beta you can't learn from inj 1 imo

First of its not at most 2 weeks because no one knows if they are getting a beta, 2 weeks or more is a lot of time, people can get the mechanics, bnbs, tech, and feel for the game while everyone else waits, but i would be fine if they didnt just give all the pros beta codes, either automatically or because they bitched. It could very well effect placings having the game for 1 month basically before most, than when the game comes out its less than 2 weeks before combo breaker,.

Yeah you're right I'm speculating on two weeks.

I have enough faith in NRS to give out a majority of the codes by then, I hope I'm right but who knows.

Two of the four characters bnbs are the same from injustice 1 lol. I've been watching footage and Batman and Superman play exactly the same except for tiny little changes that might not even be present in the final version. The game is essentially just a polished injustice 1. There's no massive advantage an online beta is gonna give these players in a few weeks. You guys are really overreacting.

I'm going to Combo Breaker most likely, and I really want to place top 8. But I'm confident a few weeks with an early ass beta, 4 characters, different balance, etc. will not screw me out of a top 8 placing. Especially since there's so much footage we can see of people playing Injustice 2. It's nothing like Injustice 1 testers that created shit we had never even known was possible before they used it on us (my edit on my previous post).

However I agree it's stupid top names can just complain and get that shit. Unfair, and stupid. I don't agree with CB's placements being affected because of this tiny beta. If the top 8 is CDJR Jwong Floe and some other people we didn't expect I'll take it back lul

Maybe im overreacting but like i said having the game in advance is an advantage, with all the things you can test.

im not even mad i didnt get a code, i mean everyone cant get one the first wave. but they should have just did it private and had beta testers instead of advertising that anyone could get a code and telling us the codes are going out just to have sent them to mostly fgc celebs and industry ppl.

also here's something idk if anyone realizes, the "randoms" you see top players play could be industry people since you dont know their handles. how do we know the random who isnt that good isnt someone who works for comicbook.com or ign? becauese they got priority codes too. yes some regular people did but it was probably 10-20% regualr randoms and the rest priority. and thats what im salty about. they should have did this quiet then when they were ready to give beta codes to mostly random ppl then advertise it

This is the same old same old before any NRS game comes out. "advantage, blah blah" It's like I said, if your gonna feel that in trouble don't spend money to go to a tourny 11 days after a launch unless you have some serious grind time.

Just gets annoying to see, I can see why NRS gives it to the "Known" players, it's because they know people will watch their streams, so they get more exposure right as the Beta launches. It's good PR and a great way for tons of people to see their game. I didn't know anyone who wanted an MKx beta code that didn't get one.

I know of a couple people not hollywood, who didn't bitch, and got a code first wave, so who knows how and who they pic and why. My guess is known players, and then a specific area of NA, and rolling out other areas after that.

I guess I came back to TYM hoping to see a little better, but it's all the same stuff as before. Same people bitching about the same things before a game comes out. and new people bitching just cause. This could have been a good thread for people that did get a code to match up and try get games, but it turned into a bitch fest.

If NRS players really cared about their games they would be organizing donation streams and pushing to get MKX at Evo, but instead, it's all bitching about Beta codes,

PS, there is nothing stopping anyone from watching one of the streams and learning the same stuff they are learning. If you can't get comfortable with execution enough to do and learn what they are doing, then you probably aren't ready for tournys.

Combo Breaker may be the only tournament I go to this year for Injustice, I'm not missing it because of a beta. I'm gonna be in trouble because I don't adapt quickly enough or learn enough, not because of a beta. My point isn't to go "woe is me and anyone that doesn't get a code", it's to argue against people saying there's no advantage when there is. Even if it's 2 out of 100 there's an advantage, this can't be argued.

I stream and upload footage. At my height I was putting out over 10 hours a week of Injustice gameplay. I have over a million views on just Injustice footage. This means nothing to me. I didn't get into MKX until the final wave and I know some that never got in. There's no guarantee that you make it.

Because there is an actual wave that went out and people got in. But there was also either reserved codes or newly generated ones for certain players and people. I know a few people in Michigan that got in, one that didn't even sign up and had someone sign up for him and they got an email.

Forums are always gonna go off topic, it's the nature of a collective and passionate group coming together to discuss something. Bitching will always happen, complaining will always happen, and things will always be blown out of proportion.

People are so hung up on combos and tech, there's so much more that goes into it. Who do you main? I bet I could pick up that character, in 2 weeks have the combos and tech down, mirror match you and get wrecked. Why did I get wrecked? Because you have more comfort with the character than me. You know how to act and when, you know what to do in a weird situation, you know more options than me. Combos are the reward, not the meat.

KI had 150 people that had donated a collective over 7,000, you're not gonna match that with a drive. NRS players do care about their game, how can you say that they don't? But we also have one of our games at EVO already, it's putting money towards getting two instead of one which isn't necessary, it'd just be nice. Our games and community will still get exposure and we'll still get to see high level gameplay.

not just combos wtf.. i said tech too, literally REO has been streaming the game and labbing it for everyone and showing ppl. You all are acting like they are hiding and doing OD shit without you.. not to mention @Dizzy has ben posting on Twitter, about gaps and punishing counters to things they think they found. Everyone should calm down, it's a fuckin BETA and the a few of the MAIN high lvl ppl yall are so worried about are streaming it all in the open for you to watch and get tech as they find stuff for you while you don't have the game atm.

Tech is more likely to change than combos but it doesn't change the basis of your argument with is still ridiculous. Again, not calling you out or anything but dirty stuff will always be found early, how you act and react with the character is something that only experience can give you and that can't be picked up through a stream.

You make a valid point
The masses wouldn't be as upset if they weren't under the impression that they had a chance of being included in the first wave

exactly. and there are still codes to give because some people have gotten codes last night. when i see p2w saying he has no code then he tweets at paulo and joshua gray then magically has a code im like.....really? -_- no disrespect to him but like damn its impossible to say top players arent given priority which sucks for someone like me who wants to and will travel and play this game in tournaments.

I respect and understand the status that players have gained through tournament results, supporting their game and helping develop others amongst their community. I believe NRS has a method to their "madness" and from first hand exp with the military the first beta wave is best explained by "rank having its privileges." It is what is and we just have to accept it.

All of the people responding to me and disagreeing don't travel regularly and don't have expectations to do well.

So you can fuck off tbh.

Paulo was in Destroyer's chat, he told me "well maybe the beta codes had a karma indicator when being sent out".

I asked him why Yung and Revet have one, and he said "They probably helped some lady across the street before they robbed her".

So dead.
Don't they live in the same place? seems like overkill giving them both codes, if so.

If we're like 3 weeks in I can understand that argument, but at 2 days in with no practice mode it just sounds like jumping the gun and whining.

People still aren't playing the game optimally yet or using the new mechanics much. A lot of people don't truly know their frame data yet, which means that (especially for new characters) the true playstyles haven't been built yet.

The most ironic thing is that you played Injustice, so you already have a 2-year head start over some of the other people waiting for codes.

You say that but we already have 60 games sets of Pig vs. Dragon and Forever King vs. Sonic Fox. Like you said, we're 2 days in and there's already been that much play. Regardless, we still have no indication on when wave 2 codes will go out and, again, not everyone will get those. There's no telling how much more play some will have over others. Again, I'm fine with it, but people shouldn't think there's not some type of advantage of playing early.

No, but they're getting a feel for it. I watched a video where they where....I wanna say it was whiteboi but it could've been someone else used the meter burn roll and they were like "oh yeah, I forgot about that, I have to use that more". They're gonna get more comfortable with the mechanics of the game as time goes on. Optimization is null as things may change day one but having a feel for the game will be universal throughout.

Sure but everyone had as much of a chance as I did of playing that game when I did. Others got better chances for this beta off the strength of their name, few couldn't purchase IGAU when I did. My friend and I combined for 75 emails and got no codes, others had to say something on social media and got one. It's not equitable.
