After ending a combo with j2 levi d2 for vortex I can't seem to land a decent meterless follow up from b1u3. J2 always whiffs and j3 into zatanna dive sacrifices setup and only nets 26%

Any advise for something more optimal would be appreciated
Try delaying your j2 more; or using the b1 really early. You can buffer it from the double j2 ender because it automatically resets the combo counter.

Does zatanna have any high damage combos in the corner that are only 1 bar or less? I can't really come up work anything that's over 40%

What are you currently doing? I tend to use b1u3 and f3 as my main starters in the corner and try to avoid using meter unless cancelling into MB rings to blow people up for blocking low. I'd usually leave the opponent with reversed inputs and see what I can do from there.

F3 j3-levi-d3 112-trance MB j2 b1u3 f21-ring does 44.5% for one bar, standing reset and frame advantage. Or end with trance for reversed inputs but I think that may be less damage.

You could end 112cards for an extra % lol. She can do multiple levi cancels but I can't pull them off consistently. Try b1u3 j2 levi d2 twice into 112trance MB j2 b1u3 112cards. It may be slightly more damage.

The most i get from a meterless b1u3 is 38% but it ends in divekick so isnt as useful. B1u3 j2 xx u3 xx d2 j2 xx u3 xx d2 j1 xx u3 xx d3 divekick. I think its 41% with a j2.
 
Is 1,1,2~MB Multi Kick Ji3 1,1,2~Puppet Master(BF3) = 32% + No wake up supposed to be a corner only combo? I can't seem to get it to connect mid screen. The puppet master never seems to grab hold of the opponent.

The ji3 has to be deep after the MB multi kick juggle.

Question why not do 112 mb multi b3 dash j3 112 puppet master? It's 34% and easier execution wise to land. Also depending on how deep the j3 is it causes a side switch.
 
I haven't gotten that far yet. I literally installed the game yesterday and this is my first time playing it since the story mode on release. After the story mode I returned the game, didn't care for the mechanics. Trying to learn it now to be better prepared for the sequel.

I'll be honest I'm not good at the levitate combos/resets/tech. I always manage to miss an input or something. So I can't really help on that.

Maybe one of these guys could help you. I only played Zatanna on the side and for the Bane MU.

Oh, the levitate combos got nerfed! After EX puppet master you can no longer use J2 ~ levitate ~ J2, it won't connect.

After a double jump in the combo resets (unless you're starting a combo) so that ended won't actually work.

As for the actually inputs: ji2~u3~d2 means jump in, cancel your jump in with u3 (levitate) then cancel the u3 with d2.

Are you playing on the PS4 version? Because zatanna is severely gimped in that one because it didn't receive the final hotfix. In the PS4 version, Abu double jump in resets the combo so you can start mixups with double jump ins (hence no crossup shenanigans.

You can use it as an ender to go for a cross up on oki. It keeps the opponent guessing if they decide to respect it, or u could bait a wake up if they don't respect it.

You can use it for a reset after 112~bf3(mb)

Whiff d2, then dd3. If you select the middle clone, ji2 will hit front on. If you select the close clone, ji1 will hit crossup.
 
I finally downloaded the PS4 version last night (because I've had it on PC forever) and you can't even do jip2 - hover cancel - jip2 *string* as a starter. Which version is truth lol
