I'm returning to BSLao as my main and moving Smoke down to secondary. Lao is greatly improved and Smoke really didn't suffer too much from the universal Triborg nerfs.

Current Mains
Killer/Butcher have honestly become my go to characters. I have lost the need to play anyone else (barring a couple of matchups) and will be playing mostly them but I want to stick with Sun God and at least one Jason variation.

Sun God is going to be WEIRD to get used to. His game plan has changed drastically...that new Sun God guide is gonna take awhile. I need to work on my Jason more. I haven't played him Consistently in so long that I'm super rusty on him.

Buffed Lao looks like my kind of guy. Ninjitsu is definitely on my radar and I want to pick up a zoner (any suggestions on a zoner to play, I need a zoner that can compete with other zoners for those terribad matchups Leatherface has and PL isn't great in zoning mirrors, only really good against characters that can't handle zoning...which is ironically Leatherface xD)

Looking at a whole slew of characters. Most of them just to dabble with, some I'll actually focus on. Since the patch dropped, I've noticed I used Armoured Abare too much as a crutch. So I'm looking for another character I can mold into or a character that fits my play style.

Oh and Bo Rai Cho. Definitely running back to the drunk man. I just couldn't handle how bad his mobility is but now he has delicious dashes. Get ready world. Imma mix u up.

Dropping: Nobody, I've been playing Goro and Kitana for ages and fully intend on putting in so much more work with them.


Picking Up: Nobody, way too happy with Goro and Kitana's changes and wanna implement their new styles and gameplay properly,

More Work:

Royal Storm and Dragon Fangs for sure. I will also try to work on Assassin and Tigrar Fury, but they aren't at the forefront of my priorities.

Dropping:

Mystic Ermac.
The patch didn't really hit him that hard honestly. I'm just tired of trying to connect B+1,2 off of tele. I also don't like that connecting his overhead mid combo ia more difficult.

Picking up:

Unbreakable Subzero.
With the system changes and general buffs I like the possibilities I see with this variation. I feel like this is gonna be an over looked variation for a while too. Time will only tell. But for now I can see myself sticking to this character.

P.s. I'd love some tips for this variation and character in general. So if anyone is willing to shoot me a few pointers I'd be more than willing to sit down and listen.

Dropping: Alien, he's not broke anymore

Picking up / more work: I'm gonna try out the new Balanced Kenshi and see if he is still buns, try to go back to Cyber Sub-Zero to see if he is still dog shit, I'm also intrigued in Ancestral KJ but I don't have high hopes lol.

Picking up: I'm picking up the game back first of all lol. I'll also see how Kano (played him last year) and Kenshi go (also played last year) go in the new meta

Dropping: Maybe Kotal (BUT NOT BECUASE OF B1 BEING A HIGH) I'd only be doing this to focus on other characters that I'm more comfortable with.

Getting more work: Shinock (specifically Bone Shaper). He's already my main and with the shift toward zoning I'm already feeling like Shinock's toolkit can really work in the new state of the game. F4 somehow went untouched, F3 got better, and we all know how good Hell Sparks are

Picking Up:
Mileena: because she got nerfed a little bit and that klassic outfit <3
Kitana: Really because i used mostly bad characters and didnt want another since i didnt have the klassic outfit
Sub Zero: Gotta pick up my boy again since i semi dropped him, but i like this cryo command grab

Dualist and Flame Fist are DEFINITELY getting more work, i can't only be dragon's fire now since the run cancel characters got nerfed and i'll be more readable now lol.

No one, I mained Lao till I stopped playing the game back in February I think and I'll continue to use him but maybe not as my main anymore.

Picking Up
It's too early to tell but 1 or 2 of the Triborg variations preferably Smoke or Sektor, I said these 2 were good AF when they came out maybe broken, now they're balanced and I want to use them, I'm not a tier whore anymore lol, I know what your thinking now "but you have a Cyrax avatar" the answer is I don't like the way you have to use him and I'm not going to use him... ever so I guess the answer is Smoke or Sektor :/

More Work
Scorpion, I think it's time to work on Ninjutsu and Inferno but I'm not sure if I will because I never main more that 2 or 3 characters in fighting games.

No one. Lately I pretty much only play Jason (Relentless, Unstoppable) and Grandmaster
Both made it through the patch easy.

Picking up:
Bo Rai Cho (dragon breath) - combos look cool, i think he got some buffs
maybe Kenshi --- i'm interested to see how patch changed him
maybe Full auto jacqui -- I think her zoning is underrated and like her combos, not so much bc of patch

More work:
Unbreakable Subzero -- at least until I unlock all his kombat card icons, then I'll decide whether it's worth the struggle. Still love the ice cube brutality tho

Character loyalist for Kung Lao. Love his changes, sticking to buzzsaw and tempest. Going to be learning new combos/setups.
I'm just going to be sticking to my three I've played since launch

2.CT Kano
3.Fisticuffs Johnny.
Personally I think it's okay for people to swap but one of the reasons I love mk so much is the characters and these 3 are my favorites (aside from raiden, I just can't get his displacer stuff down).

Dropping:

D'vorah
she was my true favorite over Subby, but was always frustrated by how finnicky Brood Mothers was and how boring SQ got. Now that she's been more or less nerfed I see no reason to continue

CSZ... well tbh I dropped him months ago, but looking at these changes I don't see any real reason to pick him up again. I'll just keep him locked away

Picking Up:

Ancestral, I like the new data on the arrows, and with the nerfs to offensive potenital overal in the game I think he'll be pure fun

Sticking with

Unbreakable Subby... it's been a hard 18 months but that new parry had me on the verge of tears.

Erron was a side character but I'm dropping him. Might learn dualist but I don't feeling like playing too many technical characters.

Dropping: possibly Kotal Kahn, just don't feel like relearning him right now.

Picking up: Buzzsaw Kung Lao, I've been eyeing this variation since release but he always felt underwhelming, but now he's looking great.

Keeping: Mystic Ermac, he was my day 1 main, and his nerfs amount to him going from 10000 souls to 9990 so he's still great.
Pyro Tanyer: picked her up a week or two ago, and now she feel competitive in the current meta, very fun character.

Needs more work: Pyro Tanyer, still not 100% familiar with her normals and punishes.
MOS and Spectral Ermac, I want to become proficient with all 3 variations.

Sticking with: Predator, Liu Kang.

Picking up: Probably Grandmaster Sub-Zero.

More work: Erron Black - I have loved his Marksman variation forever, and can use the cowboy hat tech with Gunslinger if I want to actually win.

Dropping: Probably nobody.

Picking up: Displacer Raiden, because the changed to stamina seems to have made the teleport much better.

Working on: Thunder God because the stamina changes hit him quite hard and I'll need some time adjusting, and Cyber Sub because with so many armored launchers gone, his damage doesn't seem to be that bad anymore compared to the rest of the cast. Also divekick movement for days.
