I agree with tweedy tbh. Its not fair to treat up and coming competitors as if their achievements meant nothing just because they arent a top 10 ranked player. 2ez, atai, cossner, kevo, hell even me have put in work when we can attend offline. Yet every event is "oh no yomi, trash", "oh he only beat 1 or 2 top players, lucky"..."oh he made top 16 3 times in a way, no sonic so tourney is fraudulent".

Like damn, i guess every new competitor has to quit his job to be able to travel to every major when an nrs game JUST releases so that they can fight every single top player before they drop the game a little over a year later...because its our fault they dropped it right?
The problem is not that every top player thinks every event is trash except for a few, the problem is that many top people probably have a different mentality than most.

I'm positive a guy like @cR WoundCowboy absolutely gives not one iota of shit that someone got top 16 at a tourney outside of Evo or maayyybbe ESL. Even less so when it's a tourney with like 50-60 people; many MK9/IGAU era players think this way. Their expectations for themselves are different, thus their expectations for basing who's good is different too.

Mind you, I don't think this idea is "toxic" at all. At best it's elitist, and maybe a little annoying, but when you are elite you can probably afford a few elitist opinions. The beautiful part is you can always prove to even those guys that you are good if you go out and place enough. It's nothing to get hurt feelings over.

Erron can break most armor with the multi guns. Just block it back dash or armor and punish.
Again the poke being plus enough on ht is not a big deal cause thats a lot of pokes in this game. Being plus enough on hit to continue pressure. Corner Switching with Grabs? Jax's pressure is not just based on highs. He gets pressure from his F3 and f3 and b1 and b3, etc.I mean if you are about to do the gun shots and i run up close enough and block. Its something that rarely happens though. OSing is easy just mash it out. Its really not hard at all. Jax also doesn't have to do f2 like an idiot. And if i knock you down its more scary then if you knock me down. I have a lot of MU exp in this MU and TBH when jax gets in which he does he kills erron with pressure. Still better than it was pre patch

ALSO. One of your big arguments seems to be my highs. All Erron has is Highs. I could realistically do they same thing to you and Nuetral duck the highs and punish since you don't really have a mid to regulate it. Or i can be a fuck and mash d2
B1 the short range mid, f3 the good mid which is unsafe af and has a huge gap, and b3 a 50 50 when I said if Erron keeps guessing wrong it's ggs.

If I knock you down I don't need to rush you down, set up caltrops, stay fullscreen and keep you out, it's not that hard to switch the sides on Jax.

OS is the same for everyone, even the MU Erron wins. You can armor out, but erron doesn't need low shots for his game. He can play gapless all game and mix you up. Even if he did at some ranges and knockdowns low shots can't be armored. SOS4 breaks all armor of Jaxs full screen.

Maybe it's 5-5 but that's up for debate.

Everyone w brain knew what I meant

I better statement would have been

"Probability of tweedy making top8 in this top 16 one way or another would be 99.9%" I don't feel like I have to spell out the obvious most times and shouldn't have to here
Lol Pig take the advice you gave to youphemism and just stop talking. I mean that strictly out of love and respect, but stop.

We aren't taking about careers, we are yearling about right now and right now he is better is not his fault they aren't competing
Tweedy did great at TCW this weekend and deserves alot of props, he did way better than many expected especially for his first offline tournament.

Don't get me wrong he has impressed me, but he definitely isn't better. Talking about careers or specifically this present moment in time. I would mop

feelings hurt? No. Made a statement based on an observation ive seen over the past few months. I do like your explanation and view on it though, i understand more. Although i dont think anyone should be feeling elite over anything unless you are pulling money from doing this, but eh. Thanks a lot man

But no one from yomi is placing anymore
What do you mean nobody from Yomi is placing anymore? At Evo we had Michael Angelo. At CEO two of us made top 8 me and slayer. The last time we had alot of Yomi at one tournament is Final Round we had DJT Slayer and Michael Angelo all in top 8.

We still place all the time. Actually every single tournament Yomi has ever entered from MKX launch until today, we always had at least one of us make top 8 with the exception of Combo Breaker 2016. So we place top 8 in like 99% of the tournaments we enter, including the tournaments with the most registrations of all CEO and Evo. What do you mean by we don't place anymore?

Major props to @Tweedy for backing up his talk, it's refreshing to see someone who actually puts in work in order to level up and earn their place as a voice in the community.

As for the tournament weight thing, I don't think anybody seriously considers tcw to be equal to EVO. Placing at a tournament definitely means that there are props in order, but not at the same level as our biggest majors.

(I'm still the only shinnok who places).

Didn't mean you specifically, just noticed a general feeling amongst the newer players. As far as the elite thing, it's just the nature of competition. You're playing a one-on-one game in which the goal is to generally outsmart and destroy another player, you are bound to get some egos out of it. No problem, sir.

i agree with what u saying but ur maths a bit off unless u attended 100 majors so far
'Like' means similar to. Define similar: "Holds resemblance but not quite identical".

99%, being the nearest integer to 100%, is generally an exaggeration used in order to convey the idea of something being extremely large, albeit slightly less than 100%. In this case, the like is used in conjunction with the 99% as an exaggeration of the actual percentage, for the purpose of expressing the notion of "nearly, but not quite", while emphasizing the sheer magnitude of the actual number of tournaments in which they placed.

TL;DR: It's an exaggeration fam

You have the luxury of being able to say this until NEC. Enjoy it while it lasts

Errons B1 is a high if that is what your referencing. B2 is a launching mid.

I know I'm pissed we missed Combo Breaker, it would have been so much easier to say 100%

Regardless, maybe if you count all tournaments even locals and everything it might be close to 100
