Soul Calibur V Roots Revisted

I expect no traction, responses, likes or interaction given the status of the game. There is still a community playing it in various side tournaments. Though yesterday, for whatever reason I thought of revisiting my roots and the game that led to me becoming a Competitive player who traveled instead of sticking to online only. So, a few demonstrations here, a few combos there. Was a fun time last night.

I'm still awaiting the day it gets released. Though with Tekken 7, and Tekken x SF I imagine it will be a while. 5 was a solid title for me more or less. It would have been better had they gone back and added in everything they needed to cut out at the time of it's release. Or even adjusted a few things about the characters.

It's been a little over 4 years since V was released. Can't hurt to wait a little longer I suppose. So long as either Natsu or Taki are in the next one (A guarantee) I'll be happy.

V was meh for me I played casual and the lack of modes and the weak story mode were big disappointment and also kilik is life

I always heard the tsunami was the reason most of the game wasn't finished. I'd also understand if you were a Kilik main that you'd be disappointed in 5. Too many mimics in the game.

I feel w SC6 they should take the t7 route and revamp the in-match mechanics. Soul caliber has always been an enigma for me. When I see it I can never understand how the game works exactly

Soul Calibur 5 in the beginning also had a netcode where I could play cross country connections near flawlessly. Up until a year and a half in anyway. After that even players in my own state 20 miles from my home would be disconnected.

Alpha Patroklos had an 8 frame CE so I suppose he could wake up but everyone else not so much.

I started in 2
-my main who I've used since 2 (Talim) didn't make it into V as such I mained viola and seconded leixia
-they need to hurry up and make a VI
-V felt pseudo incomplete

This series got me into competing but man they made some odd choices as time went on. Especially guard break (mostly in IV where it was insta kill) I don't see how I should be punished for blocking well, or as of V breaking a throw for that matter.

If you used Viola you were no better than a pre patch Tanya main ~ with her touch of death combos and excellent space control and ring out game.

Viola doesnt follow the games general rules, so i would say its a pretty solid comparison considering pre-patch Tanya would have been comfortable in an air dash game.

Greeks punish you at like -8/-12 so that was gg for like half of your moveset in those matchups, can relate to the hate. (@Temjiin FEAR MY SKILLS)
