Bringing The ESL MKX Pro League to Australia (Here's How You Can Help)

Considering we already hit 40-50 in our grass roots online tournaments hosted by Googie, 80-100 doesnt seem like that much of a stretch.
With ESL support I can only see that number increasing.
Do you even follow your own scene? Do you even support your own scene? Are you even part of the Australian scene?
The last thing I remember you doing is trying to run an online tournament during MK9

But even with that you disappeared without a trace. Its fine if you don't want to support it, but don't go out of your way to down talk everything we've tried to do for our community.

Are you even reading the points that Myri is making ? Once AGAIN, it is not about finding world class players. ( Even though i genuinely believe that some of our players have the potential to be ), its about giving the VERY dedicated Australian MKX scene a chance to grow, and prove that they can stand with the best from other regions. Given them population numbers, 80 entrants for a first season is something that i would consider successful, and i feel like the majority of people would agree with me. We've presented the appropriate people with information regarding our scene, including numbers. They know them, and are still giving us an enormous amount of traction regarding ESL in Australia. It just seems like you're being given a plethora of positive information, and only focusing on the negatives.

You forgot to ask if that guy was also known as zblada... Some people just can't be reasoned with... not worth the time and effort imo

A couple of points;

When we say Australia, it's basically a given that we mean Australia AND NZ. I don't think some people seem to realise this.

We would be expecting turnouts of around 80-100 competitors which if you think about it, isn't bad considering our relative population size.

Obviously the prizes and prize pool would not be as large as that seen in the US/EU.

Even if the prize pool was 1/3 of what the US/EU gets, I still think it would be a big enough incentive and would definitely help further growth of our community.

With the relative lack of competitive video games in Australia, they would be tapping into a whole new market here. It's likely they'd receive main stream press coverage (at the very least a mention) and certainly garner excitement of the general populous.

I'm sure ESL and NRS can do their own feasibility studies but with GooGies monthlies proving we can regularly get 40+ competitors in an online scenario and the current video game climate in Australia, it could prove to be a wise move.


Even if we don't end up getting an ESL, extra support for the offline FGC is also always appreciated.

It is difficult to see any type of possible negative repercussion from trying to get more exposure of this type of thing. Our community deserves to be recognized and even if we don't get the same treatment as NA and EU it shows that we are interested and it will undeniably seep into other facets be it MkX, IGAU2 or some other games.

It sorta ended with this. We'll make more noise later, but we've been heard at the very least.
We're on their books now which is important.
Nothing will likely happen till season 4 anyway, so we'll need to make more noise a few months before season 4.
