How It Happened...
This week our long lost, but never forgotten, Grand Master DaZengie was spotted in tournament. He would challenge the likes of Izzzzymode from San Antonio & Vibu's day 3 Shaolin. A lot of familiar faces were missing, but we saw two new comers and three other fighters return from Season 1.
DaZengie, Izzzzymode, Vibu and myself tore through the bracket on Winner's side. While Dust and Swaggy_O came back through losers. Winner's Finals Vibu beat out my Ronin with Shaolin's better + frames and straight up better play. DaZengie and Izzzzymode faced each other in Loser's Semis where Izzzzymode was exposed for not knowing the A-List MU. Losers Finals DaZengie had to fight an uphill battle against my Ronin. In Austin, we believe Ronin might win this MU. Either way, I took the set 3-0. DaZengie would get his third place winnings in the form of coins as punishment for not paying his full entry fee!
Grand Finals Vibu (W) vs RyuuJin882 (L)
I had to make serious adjustments to win two sets against Vibu, whom I've never defeated in tournament. And I failed to do so. Always intense sets as we both prefer the spacing game over the rushdown game. But in the end Vibu would once again prove to be the better player. He mopped everyone with his young Shaolin and can, for the first time this season, call himself Grand Champion.
Next Time...
ATP is scheduled to exit the dugout. And with our next meetup being in N. Austin many more killers will return. However, it appeared that after the tournament Vibu's Shaolin actually whooped ATP's Alien 5-0. Will Vibu once again ascend to greatness, or will ATP remain unstoppable in tournament? Or perhaps another fighter will challenge them both!
