Fuck it, I'm going to play Dualist again. It's annoying that he can't really do his pressure with the damage buff but tbh that loopable pressure with enhanced chip would be kind of silly.

Yesterday I was playing MKXL in my friend's house and I noticed a secret buff in Dualist:

The hitbox of the orbs is a little bit better :D

Just a quick question, if F213 SS for Dualist is +5, then is F213 FBRC back to being +14 for DF? I haven't been able to test it out yet

Also lmao @ flying kick MB nerf. Now the choice is spending a bar to be 0 or not spending a bar and being -2, such a difficult choice to make, especially considering the fact everyone now have normals faster than 8 frames :coffee:

Umm idk, I would think it's still +14 but I'm really bad at his run cancels but Ima test to see if his stance switch got less recovery frames now.

Naw he has his beta nerfs. F213 should be +9, +10 now according to reo. Its much harder to get to completely jail. Kinda funny that he spends a bar to be 0, has weaker pressure and still has bad pokes, yet a list cage is still jailing from 6 different strings and can still whiff cancel f3. Ah well

Wow that's some fucking cheese. We have to be frame perfect every time just to do blockstrings, and he has no way to continue pressure thanks to Flying Kick MB nerfs.

My mind is hurting on how they left Cage and D'Vorah the same, no they actually got buffs, and Liu Kang got normalized.

The chip damage nerf affects DF hardly, also, spend a bar to become neutral on block make his pressure even worse now.:coffee:
Yup. Removing +2 was hella stupid decision. This block "advantage" that wasn't huge in the first place costed ONE BAR, while there are characters who have combos with +2 on block FOR FREE.

Removing +2 after mbFK was absolutely unnecesary. It was enough that they did universal chip damage meter building nerf and gave the rest of the cast faster pokes. But no, they needed to take the nerfs to extreme degree.

You know what is even more sad though? We got nothing in return in DF at all for those +2 been removed.

Agreed. Removing the plus 2 on block advantage wasn't a great idea. Johnny can still be plus 4 after his cancels :/ Not only that but why would I spend a bar to be neutral when the entire cast can outpoke me. I'd rather be negative two and save the meter.

I agree that the MB fk was unnecessary but we, the LK community, kind of said we would accept it. Anyway it is time for dualist. Elite or Kick, any new dark charge set ups? Once the charge is active the orbs all act as almost as if enhanced, I need strategies for when we have the buff, Also they could just start zoning.

Hopefully you didn't forget the reason the advantage of MB flying kick was lowered. A lot of people in the Liu Kang forums actually seemed to agree with the change

Granted, the idea was that the change to MB flying kick didn't also come with less meter building on it (which I think was a justified change either way) and less advantage on the F213 cancel. Still, it feels like the Liu Kang players have the idea that advantage is pointless unless it jails to something. Advantage is still advantage and you can work with that, pressure does not become useless when it has gaps. It's still possible to do the F213 cancel and go into B12 to break armor. The opponent will still have to predict whether you're going to do the full string or not. +9 may not be a free ticket to more F213 pressure, but it's still advantage.

If there are any Liu Kangs on Xbox One, I'd be happy to fight you to see the changes in practice. Of course I can say that you are all overreacting, but without actually fighting against it it's a hollow statement.

You see, been at advantage for a meter is a fair change. You spend resources to stay at better position. Reducing +2 was a good idea when we thought that Liu Kang will still be building his meter back during pressure. BUT NOW, when getting a meter is a lot of work to do, I want this spended precious meter to give me something great in return and those +2 been gone now feels like unfair exchange with this patch.

Now that its meter building has reduced, I am tempted to agree with you. I still feel like 0 on block is nothing to scoff at, but for a bar it sounds a bit meh on paper.
