I know he doesn't get anything guaranteed, but that's where conditioning comes in.Yes if I read a projectile I can shadow kick , but shadow kick can just as easily get baited. Not to mention that it is not a hard knock down , and they can now tech roll , and seeing as I have no stamina , I cannot chase them down.
It does matter that he has a floaty jump because it makes hm easier to anti air if my opponent baits my jump , you can bait sub and still not anti air him simply because his jump ins are so strong.
MB green balls being +4 will keep him safe , but I'm spending a bar to keep myself safe , instead of being able to build meter. Clearly not good for cage.
Shadow kick gets easily baited? Same goes for baiting bad projectiles.
I'm sorry, but the argument of, "This thing gets baited so it is bad" goes both ways. So it's a fairly even situation.
So what if they tech roll? They just put themselves closer to the corner. Again, if you're jumping during a projectile animation, they can't anti-air you.
Look, the worst thing they can do after a break is walk back, throw a projectile, or jump back.
If they jump back, you shadow kick.
If they walk back, you walk in or dash in.
If they throw a projectile, you can low profile with d4 or jump it depending on your spacing.
All of this is read dependent, but welcome to fighting games. You have to make tough reads and play patient sometimes.
All of your arguments basically boil down to, "I have to make reads and play footsies, so this hurts my character."
It doesn't. All it means is that both players have to play the nuetral after a break. That's fine.
