Only chance of any of those characters winning is if Sonic fox decides to play them.
I would rather have local tournaments that are region based garner a seed into the finals than split up online regions in the same country/continent.
Make your collective voice heard. ESL would love to do it, but it's also a WB/NRS decision. My best piece of advice is to make pitch video with hard numbers and real voices with a paperwork component of what South African players and fans envisions for their community.
A polished two hour broadcast featuring the top 8 players is the sweet spot for our audience and production. We encourage players that do not make the Top 8 to release their matches via YouTube or other social media to help build their names up.
Put your voices together and make them loud enough that ESL, WB, and NRS can't say no. Follow same advice I gave to South Africa.
I get what you are saying and I respect it.. but the truth is as a viewer I find the top 8 to fast and to small a hype. Top 16 at least would be much more fun and entertaining in pretty much every level. We watch the top 8 as there is no choice, but i would suspect I am in the majority of people who would MUCH prefer a top 16.

I understand what you're saying from your point of view, but there are more factors to consider. Streaming all top 16 matches would be insanely time consuming. In my case, I have about an hour to eat and prepare for the stream if I make top 8. I don't get off work before 5:30 PM and have to drive for an hour or more to get home. The entire thing can last anywhere between 2 and 3 hours with the current approach (depending on connections), but you can easily double this if top 16 were streamed. I have a job that requires me to actually get up early in the morning, which would make participating less than ideal
