Oklahoma MKX Thread

Doesn't look like there is much of a general Oklahoma thread for MKX.

I'm in Norman and would love to have some people to play with locally. If there are enough of us I think we could get DZ Comics to run a regular tourney.

We have been running a semi regular tournament in Tulsa at Sixkiller's Gaming House. I believe you were at the first one and we just had another one this weekend.
Norman has been gracious enough to make the trek out so let me know if something happens and I'll drive out to attempt to take your money ;)

Alright, so I posted something similar in the FB group but if anybody is not in that and IS in here read on.

The Oklahoma scene while I am still new to it seems small and scattered. We have to come together as a community to flourish. Online/offline whatever it takes. I know that Norman has the FN4E events and Tulsa has the Thursday Casuals (that are sadly at this time just me and JerseyMan55). I have done my part to reach out the facebook and network for the scene and find a place for our monthlies/semi-monthlies?

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I could maybe do better to find people interested in the FGC in my area? I have like that at both of the tourneys held in Owasso I have seen new people everytime. The word is getting out there somehow.

The way our group got together was it was like 3-4 of us one night coming back from a night of drinking if I recall that just wanted to play some MKX round robin and decided to do it again next week, thus FN4E was born. It started out as us just getting together getting drunk and getting bodied but eventually people got mad at each other for losing and people started drinking less and trying more. After a while people started inviting their friends and had a solid 5-6 peoples but that still wasn't enough. Through word of mouth and just scooping up a couple people here and there off of forums we got to the solid 6-10 people that show up every Monday. We started from like 3-4 dedicated guys going over and over and getting more people one by one. Its been about 6 months but it was honestly just a core group that wouldn't let the thing die that started it up. It would of been 4-5 people in the starting core but sadly we lost one of our dear friends to smash...I do not know if this helps but this is my version of how FN4E started

RIP Plum. Yeah, I think it became pretty clear after we made a point to just do it every week that people want to play and level up, there's just no where to consistently do it. Real talk if you and Jersey (is he on TYM?) just put get together for sets one day a week people will start showing up faster than you think.

I don't think he has a TYM, I'll check. Yeah, I have a friend that can maybe join us too. I'll see what I can do to get things growing.

When you do start it people will doubt it staying alive/active *cough*Dylan*cough* and we actually had quite a few people come and go. At one point we have 20+ people show up one night, keep in mind this was also for multiple games. People have shown up, get bodied, and never shown up again. Some people show up get bodied and come back next week with fire in their eyes. The solid people will stick around though as long as you have that core group. What has been really awesome to watch though was we had a guy join our group @RayboneKilla and slowly but surely we have leveled up to him. When he first showed up to FN4E he absolutely destroyed us like it was nothing. Now though on the other hand he has to at least sit up while playing us.

Raybone doesn't fight with a blindfold on anymore?
