There it is...
I think technically. Yes, but there is an unnessesary level of execution in other games, mk series allows you to focus on spacing reads etc instead of stupid inputs. Making it more interesting.

Scrubby I won't say. However the execution bar is pretty low. However in that case I guess checkers and chess are also scrubby.

As long as there is high level mind games, skill gaps, the ability to think/plan ahead, and adapt to all situations presented by your opponent. It's not a scrubby game.

This ain't rockem sockem robots out here.

Also there's a difference between a game that is easy to play, hard to master, and impossible to learn fighter 5000.

Smash and Mortal Kombat will sell a lot due to the fact that they're outside the niche market and accessible. A fighter with a high difficulty curve ain't going to be all too popping in the longevity department. I can't even find more than 5 people in Guilty Gear XRD online outside the Japan rooms. And don't get me started on BlazBlue online.

These games aren't Melty Blood difficult but clearly there's a learning curve that has the potential new people who you'd want to get into fighting games straight up terrified! Hard to grow with a barrier to entry.

Probably why SFV feels a bit more accessible.

MK9's counter poking mechanic was difficult enough few had mastered it. In fact not many even really understood the meta. The number of ppl who I played that mastered that was low.

Likewise not many were good at stuffing wakeups in injustice, something I spent a great deal of time working on. Like mk9 counter poking you get a sense many who even post here don't know what they're talking about.

These games all have their hidden nuances that create a skill gap. Always be skeptical of those saying games are simple, they're usually dudes who can't get out of pools, which is funny if they're right cause you'd think it'd be easy for them.

tekken 6 is the scrubbiest execution wise even a retarded ape can pull off combos considering there are like 90+ combinations per character.

If you count Sonicfox, then probably no because he doesn't win other games simply because he chooses not to play them.

He could probably do absurdly well in KoF or SF if he REALLY wanted to. He is to us what Chris G was to Marvel, to where a local was affectionately referred to as "Chris G's rent money".

Pretty much this.

Scrubby isn't the right word.

What you mean to call it is easy and I'll admit the game is fairly easy to pick up, except if play as Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Jax and Hellfire Scorpion.

If you believe enough, -7 could be +7
In terms or excustion and having a block button? I suppose, but I think MKX is actually pretty tough compared to other fighters. I think what makes MKX interesting is meter management. Understand what/when to break combos is pretty tough. I feel that really changes the out come of a lot of games. Also keeping track of your stamina is a pretty tough thing to do in a high level match as well.

On a side note, KI is the scrubbest game

I don't think the reason Daigo stays away from nrs games is because the combos are too hard or not hard enough.

In fact, I guarantee nobody who stays away from nrs games attributes it to execution issues. Maybe think about it a little harder.

I'm pretty sure it's due to a mix of the community and mostly the game itself that nrs games are low-tier in the fgc, but that shouldn't keep you from playing them or anything.

yes but i dont think its necessarily the game itself more so than the community complaining and coming to dead ends too fast than anything. also the lack of exploration of OSes until recently. i dont even remember a single OS being mentioned during injustice

@Apologia X why are you dodging the question?

What does "scrubby" mean?

You're asking if the game is the scrubbiest but a billion ppl have asked already what do you mean by "scrubby" and no answer. The thread is pointless until you say what you mean by "scrubby".
