Laaaaaaaaaaadies and Gentleman. Uprise members have participated in yet another online tournament to make our faces a little more known to the public and have a good time. This particular tournament was Flawless Friday as hosted by our friend
@Israfel.
I am in charge of the write up because it is going to be absolutely SPECTACULAR. First off, shout outs to our Uprise participants

Tonight was NO DOUBT an Uprise success. We had 4 of our 5 players in top 8 despite having to march our way through the loser bracket. Let me tell you how it all went down.
The Kaneki Story
Kaneki, one of my dearest and closest Uprise homies had an interesting story tonight. He started round 1 with a bye as his opponent was a no-show. Next, he went on to fight Haywire who Kaneki claims had a Raiden that was just in the air constantly. Our boy made the necessary adjustments and won the set 2-1.
In the 3rd round, he was faced up against DanableLector (more on that very soon) and unfortunately had to take the L 0-2. Sometimes it's hard to adjust quick enough in a first to 2. No big deal, because Kaneki is in the losers bracket!

The Jolt Story
Jolt is a man of many words, and not quite as much skill. In game 1, Jolt is matched up against DanableLector. Ethereal Mileena vs Crystaline Tremor. Danable is on point with his execution, not dropping a combo, but Jolt has the sneaky variation on his side. Unfortunately, the meter reliance, lower damage, and dropped combos lead to Jolt losing the set 2-1 (but of course it came down to the final round!)
Not too distraught, but admittedly a little disappointed, Jolt finds his way to his next opponent: Proshoots. Ethereal Mileena vs...Crystaline Tremor?! WHAT IS THIS?! Jolt takes the first game, Proshoots switches to Erron Black (Outlaw) and takes a game. Jolt brings out Demolition Sonya to win the set. Proshoots admits to not knowing the matchup
Next, Jolt runs through his good friend Israfel 2-0 in an Ethereal Mileena vs Summoner Quan matchup. Not much to speak of, but it was closer than it sounds!
Traestar and Yucking (Jolt's next 2 opponents) were both Kung Lao players and Jolt took the games. 2-0 over Traestarr and 2-1 over Yucking in a particularly close set.
Next opponent was none other than The Great Fluff. But here I'm going to take a moment to skip on to Fluff's story.
The Fluff Story:
Fluffy started his journey against At0micBrav0, a man with many 0s. Fluff took the game using Takeda (I thiiiiink) over Bravo's Master of Souls Ermac. It was pretty cool. It's always good to start out in winners!
Unfortunately, his winners bracket stay was short-lived as he ran into Traphustla101 (who ended up taking 3rd place overall btw). Traphustla is a vicious Sub-Zero and takes Fluff to losers 2-0.
In losers, Fluff has a really good time. He runs through jerseyman 2-0 and MushMouth 2-0. Fluff is a monster that can not be stopped. But who is he fighting next?

The Chameleon Story
Chameleon was very sneaky quiet throughout this whole tournament. In the party chat, and active in KIK chat, but not communicating too much as he focused on keeping his mind straight.
Lemme give you a quick rundown of how he swagged his way into top 8. Chameleon was on a path that completely avoided inter-clan violence.
2-0 over Mushmouth I think Mush was late and got DQed, so Chameleon fought Zoofs and lost a set 2-1.
WIth the rage of being sent to losers behind him, Chameleon, the Uprise saltshaker decides to run his way through Prof_Zoom with a 2-0 set. Now he gets to face At0mic Brav0 and delivers him a swift 2-0 as well. Who's next for Chameleon? Fatality_89 who ALSO suffers a 2-0 from the hands of our own Chameleon! CAN ANYONE STOP THIS MAN?
Yes. Yes, they can. But who?! WHO CAN STOP CHAMELEON NOW THAT HE IS IN TOP 8?
@STB Shujinkydink is the answer. 3-0. Chameleon tried Reptile, he tried Kotal, and he tried Tremor. He just could not close out the games and get the win
The Nova Story
First and foremost, I will say that Nova is a monster. He is coming off of a recent win from his local tournament which happened on November 7. He also ran a train on Wednesday night's clan KOTH. I'll be honest and say: Nova was my favored brother for tonight (BUT I LOVE YOU ALL EQUALLY! CALM DOWN!)
A very strong start from Nova, making his way through winners. 2-0 over Loaded. 2-0 over Traestarr. 2-0 over Fatality. DO YOU SEE WHY NOVA HAD MY VOTE? He absolutely ran through and destroyed everything put before him until he met traphustla and lost an unfortunate 3-0.
However, that 3-0 just sent him to losers where he would face, yours truly: Uprise Jolt.
