So when does everyone usually get on to play? I'm gonna start playing TE more these days but I wanna make sure I know when people will be on, lol.
I've noticed more people are on during the night, especially between 10pm and midnight.

FIX for disappearing stuff and auditing stuff: in the binaries/dist folder, delete the auditindex20 folder

Bam. Thank me later (if it works :D)

**If you click on select folders and nothing comes up:
-Go to mamehub/mamehubrepo/dist and right click on ume.ini and open with wordpad.
-Find your rompath and change it manually to your roms folder.
-Save the ini file and go back to mamehub, audit roms and play as usual
derp, literally right after the original instruction... way to read, Busta :p

Questions that were probably covered in the other thread:

- Switching and renaming the hacked rom files needs to happen every time there is an audit, correct?

- Player 2 controls never seem to work after I assign them; is this intended behavior due to the online nature of MAMEhub?

- I always have two squares near the top of my game screen; is that meant for in-game chat or something? Is there a way to get rid of them?

Thanks for all the work put into the research and the thread itself, @9.95 :D

Hit the N key to get rid of the squares. When you are connected with someone these blocks become the send/receive and ping boxes so you can see them during game. Like I said, N to get rid of them at anytime.

I'm usually not on until around 2am. My days off, though, I'm available whenever unless I'm out doing big boy shit.

I threw together a couple of batch files to make the renaming process less of a hassle.
Just paste the code into Notepad and save in your roms directory with a .bat extension.

To rename the MK2/UMK3 files AFTER auditing:
Code:
ren mk2.zip mk2-orig.zip
ren umk3.zip umk3-orig.zip
ren mk2te.zip mk2.zip
ren umk3te.zip umk3.zip
I call this one "MKTE Play (from te).bat"

To restore original names, when you need to audit/scan again:
Code:
ren mk2.zip mk2te.zip
ren umk3.zip umk3te.zip
ren mk2-orig.zip mk2.zip
ren umk3-orig.zip umk3.zip
I call this one "MKTE Audit (from -orig).bat"

Please back up your files first, as running these batch files in the wrong order might cause a problem. But, used correctly, renaming your files will take less than 1 second. Hope this helps :)

We actually have a set of bat files for this exact purpose, but this is awesome anyway because now people don't have to download them if they just want to copy/paste the code, LOL.

Yeah I just made my own .bat file for MK2TE even though I never play it, but it is nice to not have to rename everything when we audit.

this still works?
I haven't tried this in a while. But it's harder to setup than something like mame .119 that @nwo put together that allowed multiple versions of the game to be available without having to switch roms without refreshing a list.

Unfortunately, this game once again seems to be falling into the clutches of apathy.

In my opinion MAME .119 provides the best online experience possible, if you're playing someone with good internet and a good PC in p2p.

The modified build has been around for 7 months now and is still downloaded daily, a lot of MK players have switched over.

I see, It is very complex. but shouldnt be a little better for the famous "rollback technology" and multiple
players/ spectators?

Just wanted to share my minimalist, MK-themed setup for the UI, since I use it for MK exclusively:

No folder selection pane, no image area, no tabs, no status bar, just MK2 menu font w/ dragon icons on a black background image. :)

Cool man.

I tested out the latest version of Mame recently and it seems to have a pretty nice front end built into it now, the non UI version.
