Region Locks Question

Hey,

So i was wondering, as a European if i decide to get MK from US ebay will that allow me to play with American online scene, or not?
I also happen to have a US version of PS3 that i bought from AAFES, PX.
Maybe any of you have already tried to play US online players from Europe, if so....how is the connection?

I believe you need a EU copy of the disc, if you live in the US, OR a US copy of the disc, if you live in the EU.

yeah, i wish to know. I dont feel like spendin 50-60$ and it turns out its IP thing - not the disc!.

well, no. It's what you set your accounts country to, during registration. I have an EU account and a Japanese account for PSN deals..

But what leads me to believe this, is that when you try to join from an invitation from the EU, it says to "enter the disc 'MK' and when done, click OK" or something of the sort.

That message is correct. Still i will a confirmation on this whole thing. I just dont feel like risking it even though its 50-60 bucks.
