Never been a fan of Lars, never really despised him either... maybe Lightning Screw out prioritizing / crushing mids, lol. But...
If they release the half naked female Tekken Force soldier, I won't be mad.

EDIT: Eddie has T7 Jin to look forward to. "Jin in T7 man!"

Mostly looking forward to a solid Online experience from a series that in my opinion has some of the best fundamentals in all of fighting games. And... I absolutely love their customization options, even though right now I'm like... WTF?
Seems to be a thing from the Tags, they're somewhat hard to beat, TTT1 also was like this.
I too didn't played much of TTT2, but when it was active i played as long as i could with a D-pad

Anyway, the reason i''ve been re-playing TTT2 mostly are solely due 2 things:

1 - Jin in T7 has electrics as part of his core game, since i'm a jin player i will have to play him as a mishima now, hence why i'm currently learning wavedashes and Korean Backdashes as much as i can, i never did those consistently before on D-pad although electrics never were an issue before, but on stick is a different story so i have to relearn the movement and electrics on both sides and play a true mishima now to have a general feel of how is to punish with EWGFs ad such, since will play a big part of Jin's game in T7

2 - Such as me or Smith are noticing the mechanic changes, for a lab rat (geek, whatever) that i am, i'm currently see what things from T7 i can pull of in TTT2, there is plenty and there is some that is not, due the system changes and some buffs, explaining this stuff is currently irrelevant since i'm not playing T7 yet.

Also MKX i've been playing only for tournament purposes, i can't have enough fun on that game for several reasons currently:
1 - My main is not in it, which i think its sucks, so my enthusiasm isn't the same because no actual playstyle in MKX is currently pleasing me, i have this feeling that half of the cast has the exact same gameplan and this becomes repetitive, i don't like the fact that there is less neutral, everyone has corner carries combos, and a good half of the cast is all about 50-50 mixups

2 - There is a lot of inconsistencies on the game design that i do not agree with, things i consider bugs, or bad design choices, i feel like MKX is not functioning well in terms of viability when comes down to things you need to be 100% precise, the game works against you and some people think they can live with it.

But what the hell right? I talk when i feel something is not right, most of the time i'm glad NRS listens, i just hope they consider my last proposal.

This I agree with 100%. The new characters used to be amazingggg. A bunch of great characters who all debuted but apparently aren't coming back in T2 (this is interesting, never thought of this before). Bryan, Eddy, Ling, Hwo in T3. Steve, Marduk, Jin remade, Combat T4. Feng, Asuka, Devil Jin T5. Great character additions during that time.

From T5 DR and forward all the way to T7 the majority of the new characters I either felt meh about or didn't like altogether.

T5 DR
Lili- despise
Dragonuv- meh, good design though

T6 and BR
Zafina- Excellent well made design
Leo- Great character
Miguel- meh
Alisa- I use her some. Still meh
Bob- lol Namco please
Lars- Please delete from game. Tx
Azazel- stupidest boss character in the series

T7
Claudio- LMAO! Really?
Shaheen- meh
Josie- Godlike
Gigas- meh, Marduk was better
Kazumi- They got this one right
Katarina- Not bad, but Anna was better
Lucky Chloe- I would pay money out of my own pocket to have her replaced with an OG character or different new one

It's funny because we all may have a few differences in our lists, but mostly agree that the majority of newer series characters aren't up to par with the old ones lol.
Katarina is awfull, i'm no brazilian but its kinda annoying the entire world thinks that all Brasil is the country of hookers, so everytime a brasil female shows up, a video clip is made on brasil it has to be about hookers

Katarina looks like a hooker, dresses like a hooker, and speak portuguese like a hooker (Portuguese is my main language so i know, lol) what annoys me the most is the fact that her animations are so unfit with the character in general, it looks off the place, that i feel like (WTFNamco was thinking when they made this stupid thing, everything she does doesn't match with the character)

Glad i'm not the only one who doesn't like Lars

Also it kinda sucks they killed bruce, but Namco ruined bruce IMO, his T5 version was great but they removed most of his greatest traditional muay thai moveset, they removed his Tony Jaa outfit too which was his best one IMO.

Widow, I've been playing since T3. I didn't start getting "serious" about competing until TTT though. I played competitively through DR, and stopped when T6 came out. I love Tekken, and always will, but that game was bland as hell to the point where it killed the until-then vibrant and hardcore Philly Tekken scene. We all played T6 for about a month then realized that they forgot to make the game fun, so it kinda of killed the scene, and we started playing other games.

Having played this long, I feel that DR was the last truly great Tekken... I think a lot of longtime players feel the same (@Slips ?) TTT2 though is also such an amazing piece of fanservice, and the game is as close to DR:Tag Edition as one could reasonably hope for, so I dont see much reason to give it up. Having played T7 a bunch at Evo, it hasnt done anything to shake up the core gameplay in a positive way. Really, they just removed characters that people have longtime, emotional attachments to!

Salt, I thought DR had the last great designs. I know she gets a lot of hate, but I fell in love with Lili's design when she debuted. The meta of the game has become way less knockdown-centric now though, and as a result she doesnt feel the same as she did in DR. All that said, I couldnt agree with you more about the characters. 3, 4 and 5 all introduced awesome, iconic characters. They looked cool without being over the top, were badass, and were fun to play.

Zafina was the last of the good Tekken character designs in my opinion. All other new designs in 6 were stupid or uninspired, and generally too strong with obscene wall carry. Lars is the dumbest character in Tekken for a plethora of reasons.

Again: I LOVE Tekken. The problem I have with T7 is that Harada didnt REALLY innovate with it. They've attempted to make the game more accessible, but the changes made arent enough to actually bring new blood into the scene. Probably enough to piss off your existing dedicated fanbase though.

Whew. Wrote this while waiting for my sushi. Sorry for the rant!

Hoping they still do some things to wow us, but will play regardless [Even though they killed one of my mains], PLEASE let there be a Chang... Any Chang, please. TTT2 did have it all, fucking amazing. I actually blame the voices of the US community like Aris and Rip, even Markman [even though I like them and respect their opinions] for bitching about most of the things Tekken fans loved, like the complexity, system mechanics, needing to learn two characters if you didn't have a twin [THE GAME IS CALLED FUCKING TAG!]. While players like Speedkicks, Kane, Naps, Anakin, you, me and several others all love the game, their voices were not heard as much as some others commentating events or podcasts or just personal streams with thousands watching. Saying things like... TEKKEN TAG TWOOOO, whenever something that would have even went weird in any past Tekken being a 3D game and alignments getting awkward sometimes [which was rare as fuck] Most likely from not tapping forward to realign when needed. Shortly after, the whole community started bashing whatever they heard so and so say, and the sheep effect took over.

I love Lili, she's a stuck up princess like bitch with an attitude that will fuck people up. She has an awesome moveset, playstyle and I just like the way the character is portrayed. Like I've said already... aside from Josie [I liked Bruce, and love cute chic characters], I am so fucking let down with the rest of the newcomers, except Kazumi [ESPECIALLY THE ONE THAT KILLED CHRISTIE!]. And with Josie, even though I will play her... what a fucking lazy ass just sad and pathetic [and insulting] move to make from a developer stand point. Just... wow!

Still have not given up on Zaf, even though she doesn't seem generic enough to fit in with the current theme of T7.

Again: I LOVE Tekken. The problem I have with T7 is that Harada didnt REALLY innovate with it. They've attempted to make the game more accessible, but the changes made arent enough to actually bring new blood into the scene. Probably enough to piss off your existing dedicated fanbase though.

Let it out man. No good to hold those things in. :D

As far as the dumbing down and accessibility... If they think that's why SF4 was more popular or E-Sports than TTT2, then they are in for a rude awakening.

Well... Hoping you do play Tekken 7 so I have one more veteran sparring partner to level me up along with the rest of the crew. I know Eddy is in there with "Jin in T7 man!" and I'm sure they will release some new floating food customizable items, so you know Salt is in there! Pretty sure the "Hookers" won't keep Truly away, hookers are people too... JJ's gonna be there just to fuck up Lars.

Don't know if @Slips will play, because you know how much he loved Christie :DOGE

Me and @TopTierHarley will finally get to battle [Even though he might fuck me up, I'll at least get to put some hands on Lucky I'm not Christie Chloe].
Youph is gonna be all about playing Paul with that 65% two hit combo that's right up his alley execution wise :DOGE

Wow. I did not know this at all. That changes how I see the character but doesn't surprise me at all. I really wish they wouldn't go the cheap route with any characters like this.

For me, Warhawk, Twisted Metal 2, and the original Tekken were my first 3 PS1 games. Around T3 I started understanding the game, TTT getting good, and T4 playing competitvely. Same with us with T6 though. Around then it seemed like the scene faded somewhat and that's when I started falling back, and by TTT2 I became mostly an online player or playing offline with specific friends who I used to compete with. T5 DR was definitely the pinnacle of the series, with TTT1 a close second.

The thing is with the changes is that they tried to adjust main elements of the gameplay for the new players/casuals, while at the same time keeping it as similar as possible. That almost never works. You have to go all out like the differences in SF Alpha/3rd Strike/4 for example, or keep and ADD ON the existing game, not remove. The way they did both makes the old timers cringe and the new players shrug.

So fraudulent Salt, It's combot. With a capital "O". SMH. And you somehow get to have T7.
Haha that cell phone auto correct. Playing so much T7 makes me too lazy to check for errors. :DOGE

All I see is kill lars not why you guys hate him I understand not loving him or being indifferent but not really the hate so can I know why
Why? Why we hate Lars you ask???

-Stupid fake anime outfit
-Stupid hair and screams
-Came in an updated version of T6, but magically became the Protagonist out of nowhere while whooping all of beloved characters asses in the process
-Stupid storyline in general. Forced
-Magically happened to be a Mishima with no real explanation or logic, and beat them all up
-Broken when he was launched. Incredibly stupid and powerful movelist with easy usage. Toned down in later versions.
-Stupid unrealistic moveset. The poster boy for Tekken's shift from realistic fighting styles (Steve T4, Feng T5) to stupid Lars type styles
-Etc

Candidate for worst character in the game.

Lmaoooo!!!! Garbage character. Lars hits home to me. He symbolizes everything that is wrong/went wrong in the series. Like the John Cena of WWE without the sales.

Now I dislike him. I love the authentic martial arts styles, so sad to see this new garbage [And the styles that were unique and currently missing from T7]. Is that where it started, with Lars, uch...

One thing for sure, i will miss Kuni, considering the might not be in T7

Also Harada is a great friend of One hence why he said, this is Street Fighter time to make marketing, lets just wait what he is reserving, as far as Tekken goes i don't see T7 without any Chang.

@Everyone - I miss Zafina, too. She was by far the most interesting addition to Tekken 6. The other characters are uninteresting or just stupid in my opinion. Her design was cool, fun and interesting... I play Lili/Zafina in TTT2. I'll miss her a lot.
I ran that team too, the wall damage on them is fun

Fuckin Bob is way worse than Lars, come on now.
And speaking of new entries, I'm italian, sooo... yeah, Claudio.
After all these years we get that random ass magician bullshit of a character to represent Italy. Thanks.
I'm italian also and I like claudio especially his intro/win quotes, espeically the way he sarcastically claps at you.

Also if anyone is a kof fan, they'll notice claudio has a lot of kof moves besides we don't have to worry about bob being in t7 :p

Followed by a free Shoulder, dat damage! That fucker...
Every time i see lars/leo on a team i pray for it to go for a wall less stage
