Tech - Jason Voorhees Jason can cancel dash halfway for free.

Not sure if this is known or not because I am still new to Jason. Jason has a super long reaching normal dash. Jason can cancel this dash halfway by inputting any direction button. This costs no stamina.

This could be a very powerful footsie tool because it gives Jason a burst of distance and he can cancel into any string, poke or special move.

Also by pressing back after a dash Jason walks backwards very quickly. This could be perfect for making it look like you are going to dash in, but you back off quickly. You will be at the perfect distance to whiff punish with B1.

Right now I am using it to get extra distance on my b1, or using it to get into command grab range quickly.

What do you guys think?

I don't think he's cancelling his dash, it's just that his dash has a bunch of left over animation frames. Similar to how a lot of attacks in this game do if you do an attack and do NOT press anything at all. Edit: Look at other characters like Sub-Zero's forward dash. They have essentially the same thing.

Also the start up frames of Jason's back walk is top ten for sure.

I have been playing nothing but exclusively Jason since literally the Sunday of EVO, lol. He's pretty much my main and I've never enjoyed MKX more than I do now. He's really good and underrated. There's only three match-ups that are hell for him, but they're just 3-7s and you can win with the right reads.

@GGA Jeremiah it'd be awesome if you main Jason. Honestly, I've never seen a character forum in my life for any video game as dead as the Jason forum so it seriously would be great if there's at least another Jason player I can talk to and discuss match-ups or tech with because honestly aside from FOREVER KING JR (who co-mains him), there's no other dedicated Jason players that I can think of.

I'm in. Don't get me wrong I think Cassie is absolutely amazing. She is top 3 in my opinion. However I was just not having fun with her :( I am enjoying the game 10000x more right now. I am actually in the lab with Jason. I NEVER did that with Cassie.

Aris has a nickname for everything, and it's normally like a couple letters away from being the same thing. Jensen, Trevor(tremor), Tanyer(Tanya), etc. I guess it's funny because he's always consistent with nicknaming everything, because the nicknames themselves don't make sense. lol

Edit: The best part was when he talked about how King Jr is so young that he thinks Jason was created for Mortal Kombat.

so far as I can tell have slow pokes murders Jason, he can't maintain distance vs cage or properly deal with pressure consistently
