No one said that. I'm just sick of people making him out to be a top 5 fighter. A character with whiff issues on his most important strings is just hurting. His weird jumps as well as jump ins are also hurting.
Johnny's not shit. The fact that he can get +frames off basically every string is an amazing tool and standing resets are always great to have. F3 is amazing to whiff punish with and can be runcancelled into more dmg or pressure depending on whether it was blocked or not.
My issue is just that people still look at him with MK9 glasses - Johnny ain't as cheesy as he was back then. It's an honest character who can produce results for people who put in honest work.
And no one said he was a top 5 character dude but at least you're right that ppl wanted him to be the MK9 Cage without going through the right way.

Do not imply something that is not true. The Johnny Cage fanbase is not known for downplaying, I invite anyone to go and read the JC threads and verify that. Now, I'm not saying you did not heard/read those statements, however, not only are they scarce, as some of them are really stripped of context. Most of the JC fanbase just want fixes to hitbox issues that causes whiffing and inconsistensies and not buffs.
