What's new

Let's talk: MKX on PC

Evantabes

Mortal
As @Roland of Eld said, the ports in extremely good shape right now. The game does seem to have issues if you're running Windows 10 with AMD hardware though, however that will likely get patched.

Do you mainly plan to play online or offline? Also, post your system specs and we can advice on what kind of performance you can generally expect.
Online if it works. Specs shouldn't be an issue I was mainly worried about any bugs or glitches that are game breakers like Mk9 on pc had.
I appreciate the replies guys

It works better than Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition by far. It's still far from perfect though. It's not Offline quality, but usually, my Online matches have been solid enough where I've been able to enjoy them; even against randoms.

Being able to decline matches with low ping is great.

Agreed. My only minor quibble is that people will see your record in Player Match and start declining if you have too many matches, or too high of a win ratio. I wish they would either hide that, or just take the win % chance out completely. It doesn't seem very accurate and seems to scare people.

I don't think that's exclusive to the PC version, though. I like Player Match better than ranked, because you can rematch several times and really learn match ups and counters and such. It's starting to get difficult as my number of matches climbs, though. My win percentage isn't even very good, but it seems like overall number of matches weighs heavily in the win % odds.

Yeah, and that's a community thing. I agree though win % is usually not accurate. I've been many whom I have a small chance of winning against, and have had my butt handed to me by high win chances.

Typically, for me, if the connection looks good, I'll give it a whirl. Worst case, I practice against a match up better (as well as you can practice online that is).

It should, as your specs are similar to mine.

I have an:

- Intel i5 4440
- 8 GB of Ram
- GeForce GTX 750 Ti
- Windows 8.1

The game plays great. Note you'll likely need to play in 1600x900 resolution, but it still looks awesome.

absolutely not
if everyone plays constantly, those numbers are fairly accurate
I always avoid players I have 100% winning percentage against because, aside the occasional decent one, they are all below my level
if I see numbers different than 100% there's a good chance to find a good player
there's no point for noobs to play against experienced ones and viceversa unless coaching which is an entirely different matter

I beat people with a 100% chance to beat me fairly often. I'm not sure how the game factors in win % in its analysis, but it certainly doesn't take into account learning new characters and goofing around with them online. And I also don't think it factors in constant improvement.

Like, take Sunday. Sunday I decided I was going to anti-air, more or less exclusively. I spent upwards of an hour in the lab just getting the spacing and timing right for uppercuts, back dashes, run throughs, and low profiles (on cross-up). I lost a fair amount overall, because I wasn't playing my usual pressure game. I was playing to bait people into jump attacks.

There are lots of people who don't care about their win/loss percentage for a multitude of reasons. I specifically don't care about it because losing is the best way to get better, and that's what I really want to do. I'm new to modern fighting games, and I'm approaching learning it the same way I did Starcraft 2. I've got a long way to travel on that road, and I'm pretty sure it's a road that's paved with defeat.

They're anything but defeats if you're learning from them.

I stated like that on purpose maybe you misreaded

say that any top player comes on pc tonight
obviously everyone will have 100% wr against him, is this value true?no, because he's not playing mkxpc 'constantly'
he's the occasional decent one?yes because he's good no matter what his stats are

There must have been performance upgrades in the patch as well. Since reverting back to Win7 the game has been running fine for me. Even Jungle and destroyed city are running at a reasonable FPS.

That's great. Was playing great for me yesterday as well.

Some people with Windows 10 are reporting mixed performance again. For some it improved, for others it declined.

EntropicByDesign

It's all so very confusing.
I'm on windows 10 and get a little stutter. Mostly its fine, but occasionally. Nothing game breaking or even match-affecting.

Gtx970
I5 4690k
8gigs of fast DDR
Other stuff as well.

Yeah I'd like to know how to update the mod myself if there's so many little patches that are put out. It would be cool if everyone that wanted to could update it themselves. I'd assume the mod stays the same but you just have to change some numbers and names etc but I'm not a modder and I don't want to downplay your hard work lol

Unfortunately it is not something that the average user can do themselves. The mod operates by taking over 20-30 various addresses in memory which store property values for the camera. I find the memory addresses (and more importantly, pointers to the addresses) using Cheat Engine. The addresses change anytime the .exe is rebuilt.

It takes me two to three hours of work to get all of the addresses and pointers updated...and that is with me knowing exactly what I am doing and having done it several times recently.

So, the game is patched, the mod will just have to remain broken until I get 2-3 hours of spare time (usually on weekends, but I was busy last weekend).
