What exactly did you expect? Ofc it's not an optimal solution neither should anyone be forced to do this, especially not in 2015, however it works, it's easy to set up and it prevented those random lag spikes so far that i always used to have in NRS games only. On top of that I rather stay wired and use this than using any type of wireless connection just cause they are too <insert random insult> to fix it.
Actually I feel like making another post right now, simply cause using a VPN at least allows me to test stuff further what may or may not cause this problem.
First I wanna talk about the delay you mentioned since this was main concern as well. I played the game a lot when it was released, it is infinitely better against friends with a stable connection, or just players in general where you know that they have a decent connection.
I played Killer Instinct since the game got released and I think we can all agree that the online experience between KI and MK X isn't even comparable, as in how good and how bad the other is.
I played the same people in KI with I would honestly like to call a perfect experience as far as "perfect" online fighting games go so far, I have never had a better time in a fighting game connection wise than I had in KI. I heard Skullgirls has an insanely good netcode as well but I only played the steam beta for it so i will leave this out. Now, I play those same guys I played in KI before in MK X and it is
NOWHERE even close to as good as it was in KI. There is always noticable input delay in MK X I'm sure we can also agree on that. Playing against friends usually is acceptable, however there is still input delay and some random lag spikes.
I tried playing KI with the VPN against friends and there is no noticable difference in delay, the game still feels great. I tried this same thing in MK X with the VPN, now here is the difference... the game feels a lot more stable to me and the people i tried it with, especially, cause the random lag spikes didn't happen anymore.
What I'm trying to say is, even if you have a ping of let's say 10, you will NEVER really get this experience in an NRS game, so I don't see any reason to not use the VPN for MK X.
Maybe it is completely different for some of you, I don't know, but so far you are either stuck with waiting up to 20 minutes to play a single game, or try any of the 3 solutions
@Fraud Blank posted in the other thread. I personally think the VPN is the "best" and most reliable so far, don't get me wrong I'm open to ANY kind of news you have on how to "fix" this. Every solution that will come from our side is
NOT optimal, but unless they actually fix it themselves, we are stuck with what we figured out so far.
