Let's talk: MKX on PC

damn, we just about put the pitchforks away too...
I'd say the pitch forks could go away since the first Tremor patch, if not earlier. The PC version is running excellently now compared to the console versions, and with the issues I'm hearing Xbox One users are having (not everyone), it might actually be the second best version of the game at the moment. Might be; I'm not presenting that as fact but as an impression.

While there are still some issues, and there are issues with all versions of the game, many things I see people complaining about with the PC version now are truly system specific, or wishlist item stuff.

Has anyone played the game since the release of Windows 10? I'm have huge problems since I did the upgrade.
I've been on w10 insider preview since march and mk release, not a single problem that was not related on how shitty the port was

upgraded to final version yesterday still without issues
can you be more specific on your troubles?

I'm playing mostly maxed out at 1080 with a gtx670

Hey PC players, pig has decided to host a PC matchup session. Go to this thread and post info if you're interested.

Anyone use the mayflash adapter with ds3 and have their buttons mixed up?
For example 1=2
I switched the controls to get it working correctly only problem is that now the movelist displays the wrong button and im getting confused in practice.
Is there a way to get the ds3 working without the adapter? I tried using the driver to make it think its a 360 controller but no dice.
I found a program called "scp driver" and it basically "tricks" your pc into thinking a xbox 360 controller is in. Use it on everything when my lil bros want to play. I don't remember where to find it but I could upload it for anyone, if someone tells me how.

360 is native to windows. You just plug them in.. that is all. My Hitbox, Ps3 TE1 Stick, My 360Pad and my Logitech f710 all work perfectly in MKx with no 3d party software.. just plug them in and play.

The frame rate dies when I do a move with a lot of animation (Scorpion teleport, hellfire ect..) and recently it strait up red screened on me. I think the issue is with the 7/28 patch in conjunction with windows 10, because I reverted to an older version of the game, and it worked fine.

What resolution are you playing at? If 1080p, drop to 1600x900 and see if the problem persists.

The PC version works fine atm, they fixed and balanced most of the issues. Even if you don't imagine there's player base and very good players also. Ranked matches can be found fast and there's no connection problem unless you play a guy with red bars. Unless you have low-budget PC you won't have any problem with running the game smoothly.

Yeah, the game is running extremely well now (at least for me).

Sometimes red bar matches are still good though, and green bar ones are not. Oh well.

I upgraded to Windows 10. The only problem I have now after updating my video card drivers and such is that the Jungle level still has poor frame rate (40s) when everything else is a solid 60. I lowered all of the options to the lowest possible except resolution, and the problem persists. I'm stumped. I've taken to just giving my opponents the win when that level comes up. I hate to think I'm giving someone a poor experience on my end.

I'm rolling with an older ATI card (7800 series I think? I'm not at my home computer to check), which may be part of the problem. Still, seems weird that lowered ALL the options still gives a poor framerate on just that level. Is there anyway to maybe force kill reflections? I've heard that's a prime instigator for fps drops.

[edit]- Also, whenever I queue up for a match, I tend to always get the same 3 or 4 people. Even in ranked this happens. I'm on the east coast and I play at night, so I would think that would be a good time? Late for east coast and after work for west coast, right?

It gets frustrating if you're doing player matches and you fight someone a few times, and then they look for the next opponent, and the game just slams you two together over and over again and they just decline every time. So then I"ll flip over to ranked to fight 2-3 other people for the duration I'm on because it keeps, again, putting me against the same people.

Kinda frustrating.

No, really, lower the resolution. I play in 1600x900 with all the bells and whistles on; plays great.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot tonight. It would be nice for Liu Kang to have nipples again.
Ha! Yeah, let us know how it goes.

I have what I believe is considered a mid-range system, and months back nVidia GeForce Experience recommended I lower the resolution and I did, and BAM, almost all of my major frame rate issues went away.

The game still looks great in 1600x900. I actually switched it to 1080p to see. I was still getting drops so had to switch back, but outside of that, while the graphical difference was noticeable, it was not huge and completely negligible.

Unfortunately changing the resolution didn't help too much. It also put the screen in a black box or bars on every resolution but the monitor's native one.

Turning off variable V-Sync helped (I read somewhere that this was a performance helping option. Obviously not). I also used the task manager to up the priority of the MK10.exe file to "high" (though I'm not really sure what that actually does).

At my native resolution with everyone turned off or down to minimum, I can get 60-50 fps in the Jungle. Still not happy with it, but it's kind of whatever. It's only on the part with reflections so that's obviously where the trouble is, optimization wise. The right side of the screen doesn't have any fps issues.

Sorry to hear that didn't work out for you.

Sup guys I'm thinking about buying mk for pc but was just wondering if there's any major problems with the port still? I'm a little unsure since MK9 on pc was the biggest waste of money. Just wondering if it's fully functional or if there's any glitches that make it unplayable or whatever

It's much better now from when it launched.. I don't have any major problems with it apart from the occasional stutter during loading animations.. But others still seem to have issues.
Patches seem to be steadily flowing through which is promising

As @Roland of Eld said, the ports in extremely good shape right now. The game does seem to have issues if you're running Windows 10 with AMD hardware though, however that will likely get patched.

Do you mainly plan to play online or offline? Also, post your system specs and we can advice on what kind of performance you can generally expect.
