Can Block be Canceled?

I would like to see what you guys think about this, or if there is anything here to discuss about it.

How manny Frames it takes after you release the block button, so the Character can move freely?

Can the rest of the block's frames can be canceled to something else?

Well, why i'm asking this, you see:

In Mk Deadly Alliance, MK Deception, and i think in MK Armaggedon, there was an Ability to let go the guard and start interrupting Strings right away, those type of strategy made the blocks a bit instantaneous, and some characters were able to counter in middle of strings.

In MK 9 there is strings that has a few frame's gap between on strike and another, and in this mean time, i always move, but unsucceful in countering proprely.


So What you Guys think? Please Discuss.

You can input anything during block except the last input. Both blocking and unblocking is instant, it's just that it is impossible to tell visually how long block stun actually last for some things. Sometimes you recover before your arms go down, sometimes you recover after your arms have been down for a bit.

I think if we Hold block and recieve a hit while we're holding it takes much time to recover than, hit block at the time the opponnent is attacking, aside of those safe attacks that can push the player behind for a few frames.

But i tried to countier after hiting the block, nothing happened, maybe i'm timing wrong.
