Why does everyone pick dead woods?

It seems like every other game I play online the person picks dead woods. Does anyone have an explanation for this? I seriously played 4-6 ranked matches online where everyone scrolled down and picked deadwoods.

And Korrupted Jinei is clearly the best stage.

It's the only stage in this game that looks even slightly reminiscent of a classic MK stage.
It has shades of the living forest from MK2/MK9...
That's why it appeals to me anyway, but other folks might like that slick Whiz blasting reveal trailer.

Close to the starting point? Too lazy to select random? The times I've found myself selecting a stage where I don't think about it I either just swipe down/left/right and go with it.

Everybody always picks the Krossroads for me. I assume its because of the sparse and situational interactables.

Man, I always get hit by that too. I hate it so much. How can you punish that? My anti-airs never seem to work on it.

Haha, I have no idea. Generally you can't punish interactables. The radius to use it is pretty small so just block it I guess.

This. Reminds me of living forest. Side note- gripe i have is that almost all the stages are so Brown. They seem so boring to me. I only really like the forest. kove and infected jinsei temple. Just me?

It's so annoying though. They basically just use it and get a free jip blockstring if they're positioned right. I really hate interactables.

Jinsei or the cove is way better. Deadwood just looks boring and just has acrobatics and shit.

It's probably just placebo, but I usually pick Training, Lin Kuei, Dead Woods, or Krossroads because there isn't a lot of extra processing going on and it minimizes lag. I swear every match I play on Sky Tower is unplayable, and not because of it's aesthetics. Same with Kove and it's waves or Courtyard and it's workers and beasts.

I picked either of the four corners (Training Stage, Courtyard, Kove, Marketplace )or destroyed city.

I'm not gonna lie, anytime I see someone pick a stage instead of random I automatically assume they practice on that stage so that they know the interactables, because I don't know shit.
