SZ is annoying so dont be too judgmental on them.

it depends on the level of salt, if its an odd snark here and there, its fine, we are only human.
But if its constant complaining and whining and even sometimes hostile salt. yeah its too much

I best say nothing, my sparring partners are watching me lol

Sonya, Batlgirl and pre patch Tanya brought out the worst in me and even when i did get Salty i'd take a break. but im level headed for other matches, i can lose 100 games once the connection is good and still be cool

blocking OH/L and L/OH moves with a high ping can be damn near impossible. i just play those type of people once then decline them

Understand the match up. It was in his favour.

Some of the things I've said/heard at GGA when players are on salt overload would make for TYM legend.

Generally, you shouldn't out your sparring buddy on TYM with something he said out of salt during casuals though. It's just kind of an unspoken agreement between sparring partners.

not only should he be helping you figfure out what you are doing wrong, openings in your strings or enders leaving you bad. he should also be asking what he is doing wrong, thats the whole point of a sparing partner, mu or leveling up.

if you keep him you might as well play others online... you can get the same treatment, salt, no feedback, or constructive criticism!

Heck yeah. If I am getting bodied i.e. Can't do shit against a couple of strategies. In a set.

Though after walking it off your sparring partner should be able to play against ur sub better.

I've had quite a few sparring partners over the years. I have had salty ones and non salty ones. Honestly the community is too small to really just give up on your friend. What's left if not him? Online? Up to you on that one personally I rather hold the friend as long as I can. But some ways you reduce the salt levels is perhaps explain some ways he can get out of your setups try to encourage or help him out so he can up his game while you up yours. Perhaps a break. Film your footage so both you and him can lab your matches in practice mode when you are by yourselves.

I don't think he outed him because he didn't mention WHO the partner was... right?

This guy gets it.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with getting salty.

It's apart of the learning process.

The only time i discourage it is when it leads to rage quits(Something i used to be hella guilty of, but no longer do), or personal attacks.

Otherwise? Fuck it, people get salty because they're passionate and they care.

I think it's hilarious that this sparring partner went from some semi-random guy online to his long lost twin brother that he shouldn't sell down the river. LOL.

Rude is right though, salt is just passion misdirected. Hopefully it's the passion to be better, but sometimes it's just the passion to validate your own self-worth by winning.

I'll admit, I get salty, even with friends during casuals... for one reason only...

Input errors. More specifically when I want to do a roll with Milly and I do a d4 instead -_- especially when my partners notice I was trying to roll and knew they shouldve been rolled... things like that I do get salty when it causes a big turnaround in the match.

It's really me getting salty on my own dumbass mistake/error and it's always fun to get salty on yourself. It's different.

No I did not publicise any of their information onto this thread or anywhere else on the Internet. No I'm not trying to take the piss out of them and yes I understand the point of a sparring partner. My question was if salt would have an effect on my progress as a player. Was interesting to hear your opinions and the perspectives you've given.

Thanks

Only scrubs use the term "spam" thread.
hey bird lao, havent seen your posts in a while....

I for one think SPAM and ZONEing are two different tactics entirely!

i for one am a rushdown player myself,

but as i was saying.

SPAM or Spaming is when a new player that does not grasp basic concepts of the game like, Placement, Poking out, Containment, Combo's into good placement/OKI setups.. randomly mashes a special move over and over. without plan or reading!

ZONE or ZONING: is when a Skilled player uses all tools available to lock down the stage and force opponent to move where they want them. this take a good deal of LAb time with some characters and to do so, you need to understand Basics/Intermidiate Tactics/Frame advantage!

so basically Spam is for NOOBS, because the players i see spaming are ones like in that video, randomly mashing or doing a rehersed set of special moves that is very predictable!

when you play a true Zoning player your in for a treat!

So zoning relies on keeping the opponent at a certain distance. Sometimes it is done by repeatedly using the same action, such as projectiles. It is done calculated and with a purpose but doing a repeated action nevertheless.

So since spamming doesn't reffer in any way or takes into account the logical or mathematical reasons for it, and just reffers to a repeated action no matter the reason....

IT'S STILL SPAMMING.

So yes, SPAM SPAM SPAMMERS SPAMMING. Everyone who zones using projectiles is a SPAMMER.

Amen!
