i already had a thread about that but nobody entered it or posted anything at allThis is fucked up ! This thread had to be here like 3 months ago ! We could have a Epic tournament !! That tournament is canceled unfortunately >__< ! Maybe I can make sure that another tournament will come somewhere in november or something ? Let me know guys, it will be in holland then.....
i study in gießenGießen here (so... basically Frankfurt)
haven't played mk9 in ages and never got past training wheels in injustice, but that's mostly bc i don't like playing online and never had offline competition.
anyhow, i'm generally interested in a friendly fatal gettogether.
oh and @Braindead, i'm not 100% positive about the exact legal status of mk9 in Germany, but i think unless you sell it to people, or maybe show it to minors publicly, you should be fine.
i think gathering people who d be willing to attend offline events is the first milestone ^^Is it more than 15 people in the Rhein region already? This is awesome.
I'm starting my exams at the end of this month and I'll only finish in September, so I'll be busy until then. But after that you're damn sure I'm going to work on getting something going, and it's gonna be awesome.
well i maybe know like 70 german guys who actually payed mortal kombat x. Most of them don´t want to play MK on a competitive level. They just wanna see fatalities and sell the game 1 month later, because they´re not good enough .i think there are 2 major reasons why there is no offline scene in germany yet.
1st: the obvious one. almost every mk has been banned. allowed to own 18+, but not allowed to advertise publicly, which also stops public tournaments/gatherings from being held and advertised.
2nd: the lack of arcade culture. germany does not have gaming arcades, or they are at least very rare. and the ones that exist are 18+ to enter. so none of us here has spent his quartes for mk with his friends as a kid. also the lack of them strongly limits the location options for weekly meetings. people gotta figure out something in private, or if you are lucky with a cool gaming shop or sth. (which are becoming super-rare too. i dont know any in my 1- Million-inhabitants-city). hosting meetings with relative strangers in your private rooms is something not many people could and would do.
well there are street fighter and other FG Meetings. i know there used to be a monthly meeting in Essen, dunno if that still exists. i think i saw it on the hardedge forums. also i know of tournaments in Frankfurt and Berlin.well i maybe know like 70 german guys who actually payed mortal kombat x. It´s not just that there is no MK scene. I´d even say there is no fighting game scene in germany at all.
yes most japano game has at least one active scene here in germany. Kof GGxRD Tekken SF BB and so onwell i maybe know like 70 german guys who actually payed mortal kombat x. Well i tried a lot of different games on a competitive level. My experience with germans in kinda every game is : qqing that something is imbalanced, flaming if they lose, giving up extremly fast, cant take criticism.yes most japano game has at least one active scene here in germany. mortal kombat is mostly known for its gory content which leads many people to buy it just for that reason. Most competitive players in germany are not interestet in mk because the say there was no balance(of course there are exceptions). They have a false view on mk and thats where we should start something.
And this is where we turn the tables in germany now^^Well i tried a lot of different games on a competitive level. My experience with germans in kinda every game is : qqing that something is imbalanced, flaming if they lose, giving up extremly fast, cant take criticism.
I played a lot of team games, as soon as i played MK9 i kinda realised that im not even a teamplayer .
(I think that im a pretty kind guy and i like helping other people)
So if something is going to happen we can drive togethercount me in, also interest for offline events.

Sounds interesting, do you have a facebook page set up for it, or something similar?I'm hosting a tournament at my place in Roermond on august 22nd. Max 32 players, 15 euro entry which all goes to the prize pool. Might be interesting for some of you in the Aachen area. Let me know if you're interested.
