Going to a tournament for the first time

In my country it's a really rare opportunity to go to a tourney, thing is that it would be my first time.
Any suggestions how to prepare for tournaments? I have 20 days to prepare.

1. Practice your execution in training mode and make sure you hit your go to combos 10/10 times.
2. Grind online. The netcode is a struggle for most, but it's good to see how other humans play so you're not caught completely off guard.
3. Learn from your losses. What did you do wrong? What caused you to lose? What did the other player do better?

Get in offline play. I don't get to play online due to lag. But I have seen a lot of people mention things about how to much online play messes with there offline reactions. May be true. May be blown put of proportion. Either way its not relevant to my point 100%. I spent ages in the lab. And I was the shit. Then I went to my first comp. And the nerves kicked in. I do Muay Thai and I was less nervous for my first box up. What I felt at the comp was stress that I would be embarrassed by getting my ass kicked. Rolled the first two guys on reaction. Then the nerves settled a bit. And the third guy rocked my shit. Up to this point I hadn't landed a single combo. One reason was the stress. My hands were shaking. But another problem was I wasn't paying attention. So there's a tip. Pay attention. When you are at character select you can change you button config and control settings. I did this. But like a fool I didn't save the setting changes. And I was playing my first three fights with release check on. So I was doing the right things but the game wasn't recognizing them. Untill I started paying attention and noticed the guys changing the settings and going down to select the save option. I had enough points to make it to my fourth fight and changed me settings properly. I ended up fighting a pretty good player and lost. But in that fight I felt like I was performing better and managed to get off a combo or two. So just pay attention. Expect the butterflies. And play some offline games. The comp I played in was the first time I played guys who had been practicing. I don't have friends who play. Oh right. Make friends. I hate making friends. Probly why I have non that play. But I asked one guy how he got so good and he told me about a Facebook group for players in my area. And I jumped on and have set up some real practice time. Good luck man. Sorry if that turned into a ramble. Already forgot what I wrote.

Prepare for sweaty palms and some nerves. Keep confidence and know your gameplan against match ups. Always go with your gut deciding which moves you're going to choose and avoid shame! It's your first so this is just more training basically. Have fun and good luck g!

#2 is not a good idea, at least 3 or so days leading up to the tournament. You dont want to get there and be uncomfortable adjusting online to offline. 3 days before a tourney I stick to practice and maybe Ladder to practice combos in real match situations.

Or you could just play casuals offline and get used to the timing.

I dont play online but most of the people I know that do are always complaining that it is harder to adjust, even with casuals beforehand.

If it was me I would stop playing online 2-3 days before to be safe.

Man I washed my hands like 100 times. I had just put some beard oil in to shine the face bush. And it soaked into my palms. Washed them and jammed and as they started drying up the oil seemed to soak back out. So don't handle anything that will slime up your mits. And take some waterless hand wash stuff with. +1 to the deo. Don't be that guy.
