Xbox One DLC Content **INSTALLATION STOPPED!** Constantly

My blade thanks you.
Hey Everyone,

I'm sure I can't be the only one experiencing this, but it is beyond annoying.

I turn on my Xbox One, I launch MKX, then once the game gets to the splash screen, I then have an additional 10 or so minutes of the game chugging, hanging and freezing. Once that's finally done, I get to the character select screen and realize that I'm missing costumes, characters or both. I go into Manage Game and guess what, there's DLC content showing "INSTALLATION STOPPED!". Sometimes I can uninstall the stopped content and reinstall it and other times it won't let me reinstall it. Sometimes, even if I do uninstall and reinstall and it appears to work properly, the game still won't recognize the DLC, even after completely shutting the game down and launching it again.

Below is a pic I took this morning, lucky me, only had 1 DLC installation that stopped, but usually it's several.

Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, any idea on how to fix it? I'm guessing it's a problem that will have to be fixed by NRS or something, but it is so frustrating to deal with every single time I try to play the game.

Thanks in advance,

Herrm

I've had issues of especially the horror pack sometimes not showing in game. Then go look at it and it's not installed. Try to install it and get "installation failed" or "installation stopped."

The only way I know to fix it, which I've done, is to find the said dlc in the Microsoft Store and reinstall it from there. Sometimes it doesn't do anything that way either though. I haven't had this issue in a few weeks now though.

Yep, I've tried this, I've tried removing ALL MKX content and downloading them all from the store individually and it makes no difference, the next time I turn the Xbox One, I have to go through this same thing all over again.

Yeah I've been there before too :/ fortunately I haven't had this happen in a few weeks but I was in your boat before then. Everytime u start the game some dlc content is missing.

It's incredible to me that soccer outfits are more important than fixing the game, especially when said soccer outfits aren't even usable because INSTALLATION STOPPED! /sigh

I had this happen with the samurai pack and the horror pack. I don't really use any of those costumes so I just deleted it. Maybe one day when NRS pays attention to the XBox One problems I'll reinstall them.

NRS's silence on the myriad of issues on XBone is deafening....

I feel you man. I'm not sure if it's NRS pr LIVE that causes it. When LIVE was having issues during E3 was the last time I had an issue and afterwards never had it happen again. Funny thing is at that same time I unlocked Mileena klassic... so idk if it was the WB account link or the MKX game data that was causing the problem

My issue was always with the horror pack, which Vampiress mileena was the only one I ever used. When I saw that missing it'd really piss me off because even though I mix costumes up I'm still like "helllo... I'm missing content I paid for with the kombat pack -_-"

Well, what I've noticed is as soon as my Xbox starts up, I go into Manage Game and all the DLC is there, no errors. As soon as I start MKX and all the chugging, slow-down, freezing and hanging happens, I will go back into Manage Game and there is all the DLC trying to install itself again and that's when I will get all the Installation Stopped! messages on the DLC.

Hmm that's interesting... that makes it sound like it's a gamertag/game link. Like its having an issue verifying your dlc associated with your GT

I would bet that this is exactly what's happening, The console is timing out when trying to contact the DLC "DRM" server.

I get this constantly on my MKX for Xbone, never on PS4. This is accompanied by freezing as these items load in, and one if not more do not even make it in to begin with. Have to restart MKX every time a character that I was planning on using does not install.

But it doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't happen to same content every time, it's always random.

I had read some threads somewhere about people saying this only happens if you power your Xbox One off completely and don't just put it into power-save mode. I haven't tried this yet but I will tonight. The problem is though, even if this works, it's not a solution for me because I use an auto-sensing switch that swaps to the device that was most recently turned on. It works great but while the Xbox One is in rest mode (unlike the PS4), the switch still thinks it's powered on so it never will switch inputs, thinking the XBox is always on. The PS4 rest mode works perfectly with my switch though.

I would say that it only happens sometimes, because sometimes it does actually connect successfully and your DLC is validated.

I keep my Xbone in powersave mode, and not not powered off FYI. But I couldn't tell you if the issue I have are left over from when I did have it in "completely power off" mode when the game came out.

If this is true, then it's NRS's job to get with Microsoft so they can fix it, not just leave their paying customers with a bad experience and a big fuck you...
