I'm finally starting to get decent enough with possessed to not get bodied everytime online. He's a really fun character despite being weak. Actually, I find that he forces you to learn all mechanics and spacing moreso than other characters. It makes the game more deep and enjoyable.

What is your general strategy against a rushdown character?

What is your general strategy against a rushdown character?
Well, you have your general gameplan for all characters, but for rushdown you need to have additional upclose defense and overall defense in general.

If I really need to get someone whose pressuring off of me, I go for a mb db1. It has armor and combos into bf3.
If I want to interrupt their pressure, I usually go for a d1. It's his quickest poke and has good hit advantage. It doesn't knock the opponent away and leaves them in range for his 322 string into a special. I do this string because it's his fastest mid starting string and has the best chance of scoring the first hit in a scramble situation.

You need to defend well against jumpins to prevent pressure. db1 by itself is an excellent preemptive anti-air and poke. I find myself rarely ever using bf2 because people can always jump over it, but they can't jump over db1.

Beyond that I suppose it depends on the character. You're going to have to score damage to win, and Kenshi's main source of damage in possessed comes from his mb db4, so you should look for ways to land it and always use it in your punish strings.

Also I suggest using his teleport. Unless youre playing against high level people, they will rarely ever anti-air it. You can choose between ending it with a neutral air punch or kick. The punch will lead into a good damage combo, but I think it's negative on block. The kick I think is positive on block and is better for starting pressure if you know they'll block it. I could be wrong on this.

Any other advice and I'd need to know which rushdown characters you're dealing with.

Funny enough, possessed Kenshi now reminds me a lot of War God Kotal. He's got high low special move mixups, and if he mb's one of them it can lead to good damage. Will be interesting to see how well possessed can do in tournament level settings. I think he's still going to struggle with his low meterless dmg output, but he's at least significantly better now that his demon slam is safe. Should be much more versatile to use now.

Trust me, I'm a doctor

Just for lulz, I'm fairly certain you can get more loops I'm just lazy and missed the next d.1.

At the most I landed 5 d.1 xx scythes loops, and then I decided to upload so I dropped the 6th ones. I think it ended out at like 43% or something before the drop.

My blade is broken damn right better than yours!
What the strongest two meter combo? The most I can get is 47% which is fine but I was wondering if there were any stronger than this.

can someone help me with the Demon Drop move ??

the problem that i have is, i can do close and mid screen, just fine, but, the problem starts, when i'm trying to do the fullscreen move, if i input the move too fast (DB4, then, Forward) the game doesn't read, the forward input, so, the mid comes out, and if i input too slow, the DF4 comes out instead.... is really annoying...

P.S. i have no problems on the TK slash in Balanced, cuz, i just do everything in a "natural way"... i can't do that with the Demon drop move.... :|.... anyone ?

ye, i have the same problem.. in Practice mode i can do it 4/5 after 10 tries before it, but in online its 1-2/5 for me.. I dunno what's the problem here..

Would it be fair to say that this variation is the closest thing MKX has to mk9's Noob Saibot? Multiple options for zoning, sending dudes at you from across screen, and still being able to wreck them the corner, and do so off a teleport? Or is someone else on the cast closer do you think?

Just hold down F. It should help.

but that's the thing... i have to input "DB4" first, then, if i press too slow, the game doesn't register the "F" input, and i get the mid, and if i press too fast, i get the "F4", or the "DF4" moves instead.... is really annoying.... again, i have no problems on the TK slash move, on the Balanced variation !!

F32 xx DF4 - DF4 whiffs on character facing screen, hits on character facing away on screen. Tested on Kano to confirm.

It's not a female hitbox thing, it's exactly the same against Mileena, Jacqui and Ferra/Torr.

Makes me wonder what else is stance-dependent to hit about certain cancels into special moves.

EDIT: switching my stance at the start makes it hit, so this cancel needs to be the opposite of whatever your opponent is to hit. 111 xx DF4 doesn't behave like this, likely because of the range.

Hitbox issue, more than likely.

okay... nvm... i think i got it... you have to press really fast... lol... i'm an idiot :DOGE

i was so used to TK slash button input, that, made the Demon slam dunk move, really hard for myself.... :p

How does Possessed compare to Balanced and Kenjutsu? I am certain about maining Kenshi and have been playing Balanced. I want to pick up Possessed simply because of its aesthetics and the teleport.

Follow up with Telly into njp, ji1, b32, ex close slam b32 sickle, d1 sickle, d1 sickle. I'm still playing around with this combo.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, possessed feels like his weakest variation. Weaker zoning than balanced, and weaker mixups than Kenjutsu. It's honestly like a middle-ground between the two, except it just doesn't work when you're mediocre in both areas. You need to be strong in an area for it to be effective, and possessed is not.

The biggest problem is that his zoning does can be navigated through without much trouble compared to balanced. But when he's up close, he's simply not a threat at all. Even though he has safe 50/50 mixups thanks to his specials, he can only score damage off meter burning his demon slam. So the only true threat is for the opponent to block low and he has to waste meter on top of it to do it. Kenjutsu has good damage off his overhead and low mixups and it doesn't cost meter to do it.

So yeah, my opinion is that possessed still has it very rough, even after the patch.
